Fun movie other than a bit too much singing.

Saw it today with the family and all loved it.
I particularly found it somewhat refreshing in that there is someone out there who still knows how to create and tell good stories. Unlike Disney. “Wish” was just awful.

These characters of color (aka colored characters) exist in the prequels, but not later on?
Last i checked, Wonka is white in every movie they’ve made about him. Are you referring to other/minor characters?
If so, who gives a shite?

What prequel backstory is needed? Do the grandparents have an orgy in their big bed?
Maybe how he came into possession of the chocolate factory? What was he like as a kid?
I'm looking forward to it. It looks like it will be fun to watch high.

The movie revealed to use that it was Calah Lane that stole Willy Wonka secret that forced him to shut it all down fire everyone and then use oompa loompa. Remember they were BFF in this movie, but in Charlie and the Choclate factory, Willy did not go to his friend to pass on his company but instead selected some random children with a "Good Heart"
That goes to show that he been burned bad with children that was good but turn out to be bad. So what you thought was a happy ending in Wonka turned dark between Wonka and Charlie and the Choclate factory.

The cast was diverse but there was not a single “woke” moment for those that worry about that. In fact, the main antagonist is a black man.
If true, good news, buuuttt....
If the cast is diverse, but it isn't forced or hammering some message or feeling out of place....
It doesn't actually matter if the cast is diverse or not in the first place. Feeling diversity is some end goal of its own, rather than just writing a movie with a good story and good characters and good ideas, is the actual the problem.
Celebrate the film for having a good story and good characters and feeling like a part of a story with history, but dont celebrate it's diversity. There's no need for a diversity conversation at all.
