There is such little acting of these 2 characters this year it's painful to watch. They ride dragons, avoid each other, when they do speak it is brief and awkward.

In a few monthsI feel like someone is going to write a long article about how much a disaster the set was. Every actor is going to come out and say they knew it was shite to cover their arse

Because of the wildfire, not the slaughter.

He was trying to hold them back, lost control and had to fight the Lannister’s.

People acting like he did nothing.

Craster had multiple children from his own daughters that Lord Commander Jeor Mormont seemed to tolerate, there's rape, torture...brutality, etc...

North of the wall. Out of his jurisdiction and 100% frowned upon.

It’s the gritty realism you people want.

“Oh why couldn’t just just Raul back his men! He’s ineffective!” They’re essentially a mob at that point and it’s not like he has super effective communication

So if this is real life, it’s hard to fault the man.

But the writers have chosen to put him in these scenarios. To make him ineffective. And they’ve done that repeatedly over the last two seasons.

The Battle or the Bastards. His foolishness destroys his army.

His trip beyond the wall, that costs them a dragon. Specifically, his decision to keep on fighting wights when everyone was set to go. That gives the night king the time to kill it.

And then he does nothing of value in the siege of Winterfell.

As a consequence, he’s no longer all that much or a hero. He’s the guy who pouts and makes mistakes.

Having him pledge his support for Dany makes this problem worse.

Not his fault people die. Hes always in the mix fighting with them. He is the exact opposite of joffery. Out of all the leaders in Westeros, who would you rather fight for?
Hand-to-hand he's actually a pretty good fighter.

I said he's a shitty leader. And there are at least 3 characters on GoT I would have rather followed than Jon Snow if competence is the chief criterion.

Stannis Baratheon and Rob Stark stand out. Tywin Lannister.

Hell, Daenarys and Sansa, too, now that I think of it.
