In the book, they were being murdered for a very good reason and if the movie doesn't accurately depict the horrors of the book, then there's no point in making it.

Yeah, but in the book and in real life the scalphunters quickly realized they could just kill Mexican villagers or peaceful indians and turn the scalps of black hair in for the bounty instead.

Of course the tables get turned on that.

I think the movie would include the scene where the Comanche/Apache? are chasing them down and they have to draw straws on who will give the wounded a merciful death before the Indians catch up to them. That was a pretty powerful scene in the book and gave a good indication of what they were up against.

My biggest worry about this is that they're gonna turn it into the White man oppressing the poor Indian and that's not at all what this is about.

The impetus for the story is the savagery and terror the Comanches were inflicting on the Mexicans and how the Mexican Government hired Whitey to solve the problem.

Ever seen Bone Tomahawk?

If they want to make the movie accurate to the book, they will. Until I need to do otherwise, I'm not worried about this at all.

Just finished the book today and I’m now of the opinion it would make a shitty movie. I really doubt they go through with making it but we’ll see.
