Those were literally all the jokes he wrote from the time he was in college to his first appearance on the tonight show. Wasn't even his best stuff. That's why the special was called Jerry BEFORE Seinfeld

Me neither, couldn't ever figure out why everyone thought it was so great. Kramer was the only one on that show I could ever get into.

This thread reminds me of the Cadillac episode:

MORTY: My son bought me that car!

JACK: Your son?

MORTY: Yeah.

JACK: Your son could never afford that car. We all saw his act, last year,
at the playhouse. He's lucky he can pay his rent!

HERB: Jack's right! He stinks!

RALPH: It's his material.

MORTY: I tell you, he bought it for me!

Seinfeld the show is in GOAT discussions.

Seinfeld the comedian is way overrated. To me, he is more along the lines of amusing than funny.

Tells me the real talent was Larry David and a superb cast.

I thought the other characters were funny on Seinfeld. But, for the longest time I thought the fact that he was a comedian was one of the jokes until someone told me that he was supposed to be a real comedian and I was shocked. I don't think Larry David is funny either.

I don't think he's even that rated as a pure comedian.

Everyone just loves the show.

Nobody says, Carlin, Pryor, Bruce, Seinfeld.

Seinfeld has always been way more Saget than those guys. He had a tame act.

And the best episodes IMO focused around George just like the best episodes in South Park focus around Cartman.

I'm just saying George as a character and his acting ability was better than the focus on Seinfeld the character...who also wrote his TV personna.

Never said he couldn't write along with Larry David. Just talking about his stage presence and acting...and that's part of being a comic.

There were a lot of different writers on that show.

After season two Seinfeld did little writing.

I always thought the episodes written by Peter Mehlman were the best.

His stand up is funny. His show isn't.
