Jailbreak is a misused term actually. For AppleTV it's accurate, but Firestick allows you to install any applications. By jailbroken what you are usually getting is a firestick with KODI installed on it.

My advice is if you don't know or want to take the time to learn how to install and setup KODI on the firestick yourself, then it's probably worth it to buy a "jailbroke" one. It's a complex process to do. I did it, and I almost wish I would've paid the extra to have it done for me and probably more efficiently.

This is my thought. I just dont have time to mess with it. I just did not want to buy one that wont get updated or get ripped off. I actually know very little about it which is why Im here

Do they offer ones that update automatically?

If not, it'll get outdated quickly and you'll not know how to update.

Just buy one and search an app called "Downloader" from the search feature on the firestick (you will need to go into settings and allow apps from unknown sources). Once you do that, open downloader and type in "troypoint.com/ttv" Once there, click on the first .apk you see and then boom, you'll have terrarium tv and all the movies and shows you could ever want.

I just googled how to install Kodi on the fire stick. Several good YouTube videos that show you exactly how to do it. Doesn’t take that long either. Even videos showing you how to update. It’s really not that hard. My problem was that you constantly have to update because the repositories keep disappearing. Finally got tired of it and deleted it.

Literally takes 5-10 minutes to install.

re: Firestick with Kodi, it can work great and it can be wonky. If you're okay with that stuff, have the knowledge and/or patience and/or time, it'll do the job. Mine lay dormant for a year because it was outdated and I didn't feel like messing with it to update but finally did so recently and it's working well for now.

First, get the fire TV instead of the fire stick. Second you need to do it yourself because it requires maintenance from time to time and you will have to learn to do it then anyway.

The tech board can point you to videos that show you how. It's just like down loading a couple of apps then typing in a few addresses.

It's really not hard.

No it’s not. All you have to do is YouTube it and follow instructions. Takes 5 minutes.

Just go to TroyPoint's website and learn how to install the TP RapidAppInstaller. You'll be able to install Kodi and/or every relevant streaming APK right from the app.

His videos will make you a FireTV pro.

Dude don't spend like $80 on a "jailbroken" firestick. It literally takes 5-10mins. Most Youtube videos will walk you through it step by step. A 10year old can do it.

Does this even still work?

I tried using my Kodi over the weekend. No links were loading. Couldn't watch anything

It works every day. Like someone above said, if you don't spend time (5 minutes) updating once a year then don't bother.

Does for me. I hadn’t messed with it in a while. Updated it recently and it works great for movies. Watching sports is a bit of a problem for me for some reason though.
