It's because the show does a masterful job with making Walt a sympathetic character. Vince has turned your own morality upside down.
You dislike the woman who thought her husband was going to die of cancer and leave her with a newborn and physically disabled teenaged son. She's also the woman who thought her happy little life was being disrupted by cancer but instead found out her husband is a murderous drug manufacturer that could ruin her entire family's name.
Sure, she fricked Ted. And that was wrong. Because no one looks at Walt and thinks, "God I just CAN'T STAND THAT a-hole!" But plenty look at Skyler and think she's a bitch.
All this is true. But the kicker is, she's ugly. Just a dog. If she were somewhat cute, she'd be more bearable.

Exactly. If anyone here had a spouse behaving like Walt they'd be furious and ultimately get the hell out if they had any sense.

Fly is easily worst episode in the series. Matter of fact, I just finished rewatching the series for the 3rd time and that was the only episode I skipped.

The entire show starts off with her domineering over Walt and treating him like he is a child. She is grating in how she domineers over that relationship. On one hand she would be sympathetic if you just look at the fact that her husband has been lying to her and engaging in severely illegal activity that probably inevitably destroys the family. But she goes about how she handles all of these issues in the worst way. She can't make the sacrifices necessary to get away from Walt once she finds out what he has been up to. What does she do? She fricks her boss. Maybe this was intentional so that they could make Walt seem sympathetic for as long as possible.

If you don't like the fly episode you perhaps missed the meaning of the episode.

I didnt care much for the episode "fly". Most episodes had multiple story lines and characters and this was only walt and jessie in the lab. Not the type of action I had come to expect.
That episode tells you everything you need to know about Walt.

It's interesting that if you watch the series a second time, her character motivations become more understandable while Walter becomes more unlikable.

Between jesse and skyler, it made me hate the show by the ending.
I binge watched it on Netflix and that maybe the reason but it really seemed that they made an attempt every episode to make me hate that bitch.
Jesse and his issues made me pissed also. I don't know why I pulled for Walt because he was just as shitty as a human but him and Saul made the show for me.
Better call Saul has also been great imo and I'm hoping it carries on

I hated just about every character. Humorless depressing characters and I wanted them all to die, Saul being the exception. Hank was tolerable.

I hated Walter, Walter Jr., and Marie most of all.
I understood why Skyler was the way she was. She deserved to be that way. I give her a pass.
Jesse was lucky to be alive. Walter mentally tortured that poor kid from Day. One. He was a simple kid who wanted to belong and wanted to matter to someone--how soon we forget how important he was to his aunt who died of cancer.
Although he was a boor and a lout, Hank is pretty much the only one who stays above the fray. Sure he went a bit nuts through his "rock" phase, but that was classic PTSD from the assassination attempt so soon after the Tortuga incident. Hank is the true hero of the show to me.
Marie was just a psycho wanna-be sorority girl society wife.
Walter, Jr. was just a poorly written character.
Walter White was just a nasty individual with almost no morally redeeming qualities once he became immersed in the drug world (but, let's face it, that's the way you have to be)
