Literally nothing happened to advance the plot at all.
This continues to be the silliest criticism you can throw at a show.

The Kevin Finnerty two-parter on The Sopranos.
Sometimes a back door pilot will bring a series to a screeching halt:
Wojo's Girl on Barney Miller
Kelly's Kids on The Brady Bunch
Mr. Quiet on The Cosby Show

Most long-running TV shows have a bottle episode or a clip show episode at some point.
But it was really jarring to see one in a prestige show like breaking bad where almost every episode has something extremely meaningful going on. That's why people remember it and disdain it so much.
I watched it once and hated every minute of it.

quote:Good-Bye Charlie, S6/12, of Murder, She Wrote, has Bill Maher starring as a bumbling private detective attempting to use a hobo’s death to claim that his uncle has died so that he can secure an inheritance. Corky from her pre-Murphy Brown days almost saves the episode (with her looks not her acting). It is a complete mess. Of course, it’s one of the few episodes that Jessica simply narrates so I can say it’s not great with almost no reservation. David Huddleston (Mr. Lebowski) does have a great performance as the local sheriff. Bryan Cranston makes his second of three MSW appearances but is not given much to do. Lisa Melilli also had a solid appearance as Marcia Mae Bailey:

It’s still great television but a terrible episode of Murder, She Wrote.

This one gets my vote. Absolutely hated it.
