The last two episodes of the latest season were as good as any drama like that has ever produced. And over the last two seasons there had been a change in tone. More serious, if that makes sense.
Kevin steals every scene he's in. The character has really come into his own.

Me and the wife have been binge watching this. Seasons 1-3 were really good. I think once they got to 4 they ran out of material and have drastically changed every characters 3 season development.

SPOILERS

Like all of a sudden Fiona snorts coke with Liam crawling around, or Just up and gets married cause she was trying to one up the guy. Fiona never made a decision without thinking about how it would affect her role as cargiver of the kids. then all of a sudden they make her go off the rails just to have a plot for a season. I also think Frank dying the miraculously coming back is a bit much. Shold have never made him go that far down the death line not to have killed him. And Debbie is a straight bitch.

But they have done well with a few characters like Lip slowly realizing that life in the hood will ruin him or how Mickey slow started to accept being gay. I think they did well with them.

Pretty much it. Still enjoy it and watch it for a few characters. Mainly Kevin, Lip and Frank. Carl becoming drug kingpin and raising hundreds of thousands in mere weeks along with the absurdity of Ian getting to steal an identity, joint the Army, and getting off scot free. That whole scene where he was arrested by MPs was shockingly horrendous. Still worth the watch. Just know that like most shows, the shtick gets old old after a while.

They do a great job of making all the main female characters extremely unlikable.

Vee at least has a bit of redemption toward the end of the current run.

I just finished season 5, so i dont know what all happens in season 6. But another thing what pissed me off in season 5 was Vee, and Kevin was the only stable and lasting relationship. And they messed with that dinamic. I think the show lost a lot of hope when they screwed with the one thing that was consistent. And my wife says im like Kev, answering question very literally like he does.

I think Carls story line is stupid. He is only slightly smarter then the retarded Chucky, yet he does all this shite and barely gets caught. IDK what the other poster said about him becoming a kingpin, but it only reinforced my thought about how stupid the writting for his character is.

Ian's is ok. I mean he was a very straight(not ) character but once his bipolar hits it is wacko, which i believe is farly normal for a person to all of a sudden become a different person once they become bipolar. But i also think that's a copout on the writers to use that excuse. And the Actor just plays this same character as the joker in Gotham.

spoilers dont bother me at all. I usually read up on things prior and my wife hates it.

I stil need to get back to Black sails cause i stopped after the season 3.

Sidebar i love Vane as Jody. Jody was a great character just to have them stupidly write him off along with Karen. Why did that have Karen gone for almost a whole season just to bring her back and "kill" her character?

I am on season 5, started watching during the holidays. I have slowly turned on every character and feel like nobody has any redeeming qualities. I liked Fiona in the beginning but as of now, I can't stand her and i think she gets what she deserves. I loved Debbie at first but now I just wish she would go elope with some white trash dude, and live her life flipping burgers at burger king with 4 kids and get the hell off the show. Frank, i've hated him since season 1, was really excited when I thought he died for good. Lip, is on a thin line. Glad he is getting out of the slums but ultimately all the trashy fighting he does and shitty treatment of women just makes me go back to disliking him by the end of most episodes. Ian, hard to care about him anymore. Either commit him to taking his meds and get him back in school or leave in the mental hospital. Can't sympathize anymore with him. Frank's daughter from another mother, can't stand her. Her son, bless his heart. They need to put him in foster care and let us pretend like he gets a happy ending. Kev and V, for awhile i was fast forwarding through all the baby drama but started actually watching all their scenes after Kev came back from visiting Lip at college. I'm on the fence with them now. Liam is the only family member i like and am rooting for. Everyone else i am rooting for death by house fire.

I feel like the 7th season redeems Fiona and Carl from the stupidity they were in 4-6

Debbie and Lip become worse. Debbie almost unbearably worse.

Frank is still Frank.

I disagree, Fiona has always been impulsive and self-centered. She is a sex-addict, she lost $1000 trying to promote that club, she went and got guardianship without asking Steve, her and V were always drinking around the kids, etc. Her character sucks, and her pathetic "I care about everyone but me but watch me do all these selfish things to make it look like I care so much about everyone else" attitude makes it that much worse.

I'm only halfway through Season 7, but I wish Mickey and Steve make a reappearance, they were two of the best characters, along with Kevin. I would watch a spin-off with those three stealing cars and selling drugs out the van in a heartbeat.

Carl, definitely... Fiona... not as much. She just got really really really lucky on the laundromat deal, which was a stupid and selfish thing to do in the first place... not even counting backstabbing Etta in the process.

I'd bet almost anything that the building she just bought ends up with her being screwed over.

Im at Carl getting out of juvy and Fiona finding out Debbie is pregnant. Why the frick was the retard nephew still in there when carl got out. He was only supposed to be in there for 90 days max.

If Debbie gets worse, it is going to be hard for me to finish the show. i cant stand her bitch arse attitude and want to punch her in the face as much as i did Sammi when they would let her just come in and out of the house when they were always fighting with her.
