That’s a plausible hypothesis, but GDT exposes us to several other people/couples who are ostracized:
The orphaned mute
The creature from the black lagoon
The gay guy
The black couple at the pie shop
If the subtext is about interracial relationships, why not explore that in all of the other parallels? You very well may be correct, but I think what we see lends more credence to my suggestion.

Well I went and saw Hostiles instead and I'm glad I did. I really liked that movie a lot.

Yeah, Hostiles is a good movie. It's slow but what the hell do you expect? They are riding a horse to Montana! Solid dialogue, solid acting, beautiful cinematography. It will stand the test of time as a western.

I just got out of the show. It's decent but based on the same ratings you were looking at I was expecting something more thought provoking. Wouldn't set my expectations too high for this one.

A close second to the bad guy is the gay friend. How many stereotypes can we shove into a 50lb bag?
I was just waiting for him to confront the agent and say "we just don't give out that type of information here at hard bodies"

With jazz hands while humming show tunes and fawning over Judy garland.

The little side plot of the gay dude trying to get his job back was kinda lame I thought

It was feeding into the ostracized theme by beating you over the head with it. Apparently GDT thinks his viewers are simple AF and they need to be spoon fed.

And it let GDT do the whole green and red thing too, so...
EDIT: someone really likes the creature from black lagoon because they are serial DVing legitimate critique. lol, sorry your movie sucks balls, creature from the black lagoon balls.

All I need to know is whether it's better or worse than "Creature From the Black Lagoon. " I'm given to understand "Shape" is a bit less rapey, but I'm willing to accept a little rapey-ness in the name of great art, so I need other data.

The creature from the black lagoon in olde Timey 3d is much more legit.
