Saw isn’t horror. It’s torture/gore porn. And it’s terrible.

Agreed. Saw is just gross. Wishmaster is fun. I like the Witchboard movies too but I'm a sucker for Ouija movies. Scream is certainly up there until they departed from Kevin Williamson's vision (which later became that Fox show with Kevin Bacon). Friday the 13th is always fun. I'm more of a fan of the later installments. Jaws is cool as well. Honestly there aren't that many horror franchises. Phantasm deserves some love as does Critters. Tremors is just ridiculous but fun. Blade is more action than horror but it kicks arse as well. Mr. Vampire is a great franchise as well but more comedy than horror. Still amazing.

Hellraiser should be up there as well.

I'll take Parts 5-10 over 1-4 any day. Those movies are just so much fun!

I say SAW for its angle. However how can you leave out Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead series? Those are classics.

The first Saw is great.

Most of them after are fricking awful, B-movie wierdo crap that gets more and more convoluted.

If you just want to watch Gore, Final Destination is a far better franchise.
