C'mon man! Make sure you take the PP movies in sequence so you can truly appreciate Chief Inspector Dreyfuss' decent into madness!

PERHAPS forgotten. But not underrated. Back in the day, he was given tons of props for being great.

years ago I got his bio book because I am a big fan - said his movies took twice as long to shoot because half of his famous lines were ad libs and even though many of the crew shot most of his movies and knew what to expect they laughed so hard it slowed down production- watch the pp series in order and your stomach will hurt

I recall reading that Sellers once said that Clouseau knew, at some level, that he was an idiot but he was desperately trying to keep the rest of the world from figuring it out.

Its where half the humor from those scenes comes from. Clouseau has something go horrifically wrong and then tries to go on like nothing happened. If he had just been a bumbling oaf the pratfalls wouldn't have been as funny.

Not underrated but maybe forgotten or overlooked by the younger audience. He was amazing. Hopefully, most people eventually are turned onto him or discover him on their own.
