Interesting (albeit anti-Semitic) take on Mad Men

I copied and pasted this from a Mad Men blog. The author sounds like one of those conspiracy theorists, but knowing a little bit about Matthew Weiner and his background (last week's Romney cheap shot was an example) there are some interesting points raised. This is definitely anti-Semitic and anti-Liberal but the author may be correct in a few things...
quote:
This episode featured come common themes of mad men.. Joan is again disappointed with her life as her husband choose Vietnam over her. The writers of MM constantly punish Joan with disappointing because she desires the traditional wife and mother life. This is a warning to white gentile women that this life is bad for them and will always end up in disappointment. Mrs. Francis makes Sally eat her sandwich like the scene from the movie “Mommy Dearest.” The writers apparently use “The Authoritarian Personalty” as their guide for portraying White gentile parenting in MM (Betty, Mr Price, Mrs. Francis, Don Father). Of course another major theme is sexual depravity. For some reason Wiener likes to portray white gentile Christians as having sick sexual tendencies. Tony Soprano was mentally disturbed because he saw his mother get hot over a side of beef. In MM the Francis mother seemed sexually turned by the Chicago murders (rape fantasy). In a past episode Don Draper and his wife have angry sex. And in a past season episode Don hires a hooker to slap him while having sex. Wiener really likes to push this meme. This sexual depravity is supposed to be tied up with fascist tendencies. Don gives a hint that his end is near. He mentioned to his wife that she would be his wife until he died. Mad Men’s overarching idea is the fall of the White man (A Talmudic Jew fantasy). The Sopranos overarching idea was that White Christian gentiles are sick people who need the Jewish science (Psychotherapy) to overcome their inborn fascistic sexual deviant tendencies. The Mad Men series will end with Don Draper jumping out the window of his office (just like the opening credits) when his past catches up with him.

Even for a show as layered as Mad Men, some of that analysis is a bit tortured. The show itself is definitely a quasi-liberal critique of upwardly mobile/middle class suburban white culture and values, but I think that this poster got quite a bit strident in some of his/her assessments.
But who knows. Leave out the "Talmudic Jew fantasy" and "Jewish science" lines and it'd be easier explore the rest of his ideas.
Reading the first part of it kind of drew me back to American Beauty.

Joan is obviously being used on the surface as a character to show...the times they are a changing...and perhaps (on the show) the feminist viewpoint at the time that women who desire to keep their traditional role will be left behind in this new society.
Joan's views of a woman early in the show...to be the office looker, please men...and help them get ahead...was seen as a snapshot of the times with Peggy as the blossoming counter-point. Now Joan, like all dinosaurs...is experience that loss of identity and her place in the world. While some may have viewed her role negatively and the show used it for modern-comparison humor...that reality was real and important to Joan as she was important (which Mad Men has shown in earlier episodes)...and like anyone in the show, she's having trouble adapting to a world in what she expected is no longer and as basically a single mother - figuring out how she fits in this society that has left her behind.

That's long been the theory.

Age catches up with him and he can't hold his liquor. He falls out of the window.

After reading this, the little desire I had to watch mad men has now dissipated.
I didn't know it was one of those ultra liberal shows that ridicules those who long for traditional values. Oh the horror, a woman wanted to be a housewife. Hell, if more women wanted to be housewives (the role they were in for thousands of years pre-baby boomer gen) then maybe the country wouldn't be so fricked.

I think that passage says a whole lot more about the guy who wrote it than about the show.

I don't see it as that.
The only liberal boner that they've pulled is calling Romney's (then Governor) dad a "clown". (Even though he was considered a liberal Republican at the time of Mad Men.)

These were officially entered into the Congressional Record in 1963. It's hard to argue that they are mere "conspiracy theories" when they are glaring out at you from your television, etc. every single day. Numbers 21-26, 39-41 should take care of this thread.
