I can’t believe you people bitch endlessly over Crystal Skull so much that you think Temple of Doom is good. It was a train wreck and worse than Crystal Skull

There’s a reason the last Indiana Jones movie was called The Last Crusade. They just need to stop and let it be, or completely reboot it.

This would be a perfect reboot to bring in Pratt
No. Indiana Jones doesn't need a reboot and Chris fricking Pratt is not a good choice for Indiana Jones. I don't know why he gets mentioned

The plot of kingdom of the crystal skull was pretty nonsensical, but the entire storyline of IJ is pretty out there, so...I like the way the movies feel.

If Crystal Skull had maybe one mild rewrite and a few different production changes it would have been a really good Indy flick.

#1 thing is Sallah needed to be involved either in either the Mac or Ox role. Mac is the most obvious traitor ever and having that be Sallah would have been a huge shock. The entire reason Indy goes out in this one to save Ox and having that be Sallah would have far more impact. Either way, having two characters we have never seen before drive so much of that action while somehow being massively important people to Indy was a huge mistake. I would lean towards making Sallah the one who needed to be saved and bring back a character like Remy Baudouin from The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles as the turncoat for fan service (b/c lettuce bee cereal, the very idea of an Indy 4 is fan service).

#2 is TONE DOWN THE frickING CG. Cut out those damn monkeys, the aliens needed to be practical effects, and for the love of god don't shoot everything on a sound stage if you don't know how to make the lighting on the actors blend with the CG backgrounds.

#3 is make Spalko legitimately scary and give her a better death than the knowledge being to much to handle. She needed to be murking people left and right to really hammer home how evil she was. Have her kill Remy late in the movie for coming to his senses and helping Indy. Have her death come at the hands of the aliens where they straight up absorb her arse into a collective hive mind/body a super painful way. Have it either be kind of like in a movie like The Blob w/a physical being or a flick like Superman 3 where it's an advanced computer that integrates itself into her body. This sequence 100% needed to be practical effects instead of the burst of light that made it seem like they ran out of time when making the film.

Temple was meant to be camp like old Saturday Afternoon Serials.

And it turned out fun and immensely entertaining.

Crystal just sucked.
