Went and watched it last night. It still holds up. I felt like I was 9 again but made me miss the 90's even more. As we were walking out, a gentleman about my age(obviously) was walking out with me and he looked at me and said " It's just like I remember it."
And Judith Hoag was a babe. Still is.

What else struck me as watching it as an adult was the theme of the importance of the relationship between fathers and children, all throughout the movie and on different levels.
Splinter is constantly fathering the turtles.
Danny rebels and Splinter tells him all fathers love their sons.
April kept her father’s old stuff in the antique shop because it helped her remember him.
Shredder claims to be the father of all of the foot clan recruits.
Danny’s relationship with his father is restored at the end.

Way back when I was in the 5th grade in the spring of 1990, the 5th and 6th grades at my school took an overnight trip to Huntsville to the space center. Our hotel was adjacent to a mall. Back then arcades were still common and the one at the mall had the four-way TMNT game. My buddies and I played the shite out of it.
And then we stayed up late watching steamy movies on Showtime in our hotel room.
One of the high points of my childhood.

April was legit in that movie.

I was madly in love with that April as a kid. And she’s even hotter now that I’m old. Girl next door April is best April.
This movie was the farthest back I can remember knowing I was a heterosexual.

And it was a natural prettiness, which makes her even hotter.

How did I just find out that Corey Feldman voiced Donatello? Never knew that until today.

You Millennials and your comic book heroes. It’s ruined the movie industry.

The best part about the foot clan is that it's a cosmopolitan, multicultural operation that's so organic on both planes that it's not even considered woke.
This really. Is an underrated comment.

Watched it last night. Shredders intro is still pretty badass.

After Optimus, Shredder is the best comic book villain. Complete badass.

Why do you keep throwing Prime under the bus in every TMNT thread lately?
Optimus again?

Hamato Yoshi, and Tang Chen were in love, until Oroku Saki showed up and yeeted everyone.
Oroku Saki `s death was pretty legit for an 80s "kids" movie.
Dude fell 60 ft off a complex, landed in a trash truck then got crushed in the back by a hydraulic ram, by Casey Jones.
As Splinter avenged his teachers death, Hamanato, shredder suffered a dishonorable death.
Then Casey Jones baggs April O`Neal
And Hero`s on the half-shell song plays.
Still one of my fav films.
But for TMNT 2, why didnt they bring back the OG April O`Neal

I'm not.
I have said that he is the greatest comic book villain there is.

I think you mean Megatron. Optimus Prime is a good guy.
