I have a small gripe with "Fury" (spoilers maybe)

First of all, I really liked the movie and the storyline. Casting was really good for the most part.
but in a WW2 movie, is it necessary to trace the gunshots & bullets with the colored lasers? Is this WW2 or Star Wars? Why does this piss me off so much?

Yeah. On our .50cal mounts, every 5th round was a tracer round. Granted this was early 2000's on an aircraft carrier and not in the shite during WWII...I'm assuming they've been around that long

there were tracers every 5th round, but i didnt realize they were that distinct. I thought they did that more for the audience to show gun fire. Im prob just an idiot

It does help add to the cinematic effect I guess, but in real life we used them to help aim

They are used frequently for accurate enemy location if everyone else doesn't know where the enemy is. I didn't have a problem with them in the movie. Probably because I'm use to it.

Didn't Bra Pitts character literally say this when teaching the kid?
If anything, I was blown away by the quality of the tank rounds and how they bounces and rebounded off things. It was incredible and scary.

Dude, he even says in the movie that every 5th round was a tracer, so that you could see where the rounds were going...

The OP was asking about WWII and tracers, which is a valid question.
