disagree. if i have to see this whole movie through Katniss's point of view its gonna suck. I want action and I want violence!

Teen books are easy to translate to the screen. They are already dumbed down for those with short attention spans. They don't even have to change the dialogue.

From the author:
quote:

Collins shared her thoughts on the Hunger Games official Facebook page saying, “I feel like the book and the film are individual yet complementary pieces that enhance one another. The film opens up the world beyond Katniss’ point of view, allowing the audience access to the happenings of places like the Hunger Games control room and President Snow’s rose garden, thereby adding a new dimension to the story.”

You do know that Collins was originally a screenwriter, right? That's probably why her novel read so much like a movie to begin with. Plus, she wrote the screenplay for the movie.

I didn't know that. When I saw this thread, I remembered reading that relevant article from a few days ago.
