I have an absurd number of channel subscriptions on prime and a handful of those use RT, which I observe too
Speaking of which, I’ve been on medical leave for months and had completely slept on what an absolute treasure PBS Masterpiece is. It’s kept me from jumping out of a window. I’ve always loved Uk television and films, and was a shameless Downton Abbey fan. But I was missing out on all the phenomenal miniseries they’ve made in the last 20 odd years. There’s so many I’ve recommended to friends. And many I can wait to watch with my children when they’re a bit older

Rotten Tomatoes for me. Usually if a film falls under 55%, I pass on watching it.

zero. I still use it from time to time to look up the name of something but I wouldn't use it as a review site which would sway my viewing choices.

I go there often for movies/shows I'd never heard or previously. If the general consensus (no matter what the rating) is that it's the kind of movie I thought it was upon hearing about it, then I'm likely to give that flick/series a go. I will investigate further if the rating is far lower or far higher than I might expect, in particular looking out for spoilers to get a real grip on why that might be.
Never knew that IMDB once had dedicated message boards. That must have been a golden age. Wish they still had something like that.

I trust rotten tomatoes audience score more.
There are a lotta movies that are rated in the 6s on imdb that are good watches.
Power of the dog is a 6.8 and won an Oscar
Ballad of Buster Scruggs is only a 7.2 and its a really fun watch.

7.2 on IMDB is incredibly solid. Daniel day Lewis flicks all hover around 8. Idk what the highest score is but I’ve personally never seen a 9
