Most Christmas bonuses are like 5% of your salary….so Clark was making 1 mill a year?

Or 300 bucks when you work in a hospital in a professional capacity

I'm 1989, an in ground pool setup like that was probably $10-15K, max.

Plane tix were also probably about $150-$200 each.

I figure his bonus was $8-10K range.

Just watched the movie a few days ago and I believe he says it’s $15,000

I bet they could have built a nice pool for about $10k back then. As recent as 10 years ago a decent sized in ground pool was about $35k. Now it’s about $80k for an entry level in ground pool

Since this is the only thread on the movie right now.

So Clark is appalled at having a cat in the house if they unwrap the old aunt’s gift.

After the tree burns up, Clark goes outside with the chainsaw and is standing in front of the open garage.

There is clearly a cat house tower thing in the garage. They’re cat people.

His boss tells him to add 20% to what he got last year, to which Clark passes out from amazement.

I always thought passing out from a 20% increase was kind of dumb. That’s not that big of a deal. Say the bonus is 10k, 12k is just too much to handle? Nah.

He put down a $7,500 deposit so I figure it's a $15k pool. My guess is he got somewhere around $20k with the 20% adder.
