many states have passed laws that protect businesses from this

I'm not ignoring anything.

Are the continued shut downs political to some degree? Sure.

But I'm not just talking about the current shut downs, but the ones that happened in the spring and well into the summer. The states that followed or ignored the more strict federal guidelines.

Y'all have continually downplayed the Fedgov role in all of this and its annoying as frick.

They all deserver blame. They are all culpable.

Movie theaters want to be saved from permanent closure after they were forced to shut down. But yeah frick em

I don’t mind movie theaters being mad about their financial straits due to local/state regulations and they should pursue their grievances. However, Hollywood can suck a fart. You have finished movies. Put them out. If California and New York want to be candy asses, that’s their problem. The rest of us are moving on.

You should really redo this thread about California, New York and regal. That seems to be what you’re concerned with.

I just realized that you didn't link to an even semi-reputable article, but to a beg-for-clicks anti-celebrity-buzz opportunist.

I'll never understand why people who hate the film industry and the vast majority of actors will come into a film forum and nonchalantly comment on movies like they weren't made by the people that they vehemently damn and despise.

Hate when celeb actors ( pretenders ) and the entire industry preaches to us instead of doing what they're supposed to do, and that's do good story telling.

( Same applies to athletes too, but that's another topic )

They need to shut up and act, shut up and sing, shut up and freaking play ball.

You think that a former comic shop owner is any less reputable than some 'established media' writer or clown who reads other people's words on screen?

The line of demarcation where Hollywood when woke and then broke is pretty easy for all to see.

Ricky Gervais flat out told these phonies to their faces what to stop doing, and they keep doing it anyways. And they keep losing money. They really don't get it, and neither do you.

And yet you take his word and send it out, even though you have him on the same level as the clowns. But then you agree with him, so that makes him reputable.

That's his current act. If they thought for a second that he wasn't putting on a persona, they'd never have asked him back to host. His shtick it to offend everyone. He's anti-celebrity, anti-Trump, anti-conservative, anti-liberal. He'd be the first to call people out for being anti-Hollywood and then voting for a reality star.

He's not on the same level, he knows what he's talking about.

As for Gervais, schtick or not, he said what many are thinking. And he said it to their faces, at one of their little self love events, so yeah, the message resonates. Bigly.

That being a reality, no one should have been shocked when The Rock came out supporting Biden.

Hollywood and the NBA are little more than whorish shills for the Chinese communist party.

There are lots of decent folks in the film industry, it just so happens that the overwhelming majority of the good guys are behind the cameras, not in front.

It's the pretentious, know-it-all HighSchoolDropoutsLecturingtheWorld'ers who PRETEND for a living that cause people to shite on Hollywood as a whole.
