That’s not really true. Most Disney fare is made for children. The gays just flock to it because they love costumes and show tunes. Disney World is their Mecca.

Gay people liking a kids movies made for kids is not the same as a movie made for gay people.

And every Muppet is a puppet but not every puppet is a muppet.
What’s your point?

This is what you said:
The problem is that Hocus Pocus, the first one, wasn't made for gays (or even women, for that matter). It was made for families to watch at Halloween. It wasn't good, but there also weren't a lot of good Halloween movies for families at that time.
Many people on this board were likely kids when the first one came out, so Disney is definitely shooting for the nostalgia angle when they released this. The target audience should be those people who watched the first one with their families and now have families of their own, not gays.

I see a bunch of grown men critiquing this movie as if it weren’t intended for women, gays, and children.

Gotcha. I just wasn’t sure what point you were making. I agree with you. The original was made for children and families.
But I’ll be damned if the gays don’t love it too. Probably something to do with Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker. I didn’t pay any attention to the new one. Just played on my phone throughout. So they’ve become a target demo for the sequel too.
All I can say is “Disney.” It’s kinda what they do now.

I can't believe some of y'all bothered by a trio of drag queens dressed up as the Sanderson Sisters for a friggin costume contest.

I started crying laughing when I read that comment

I watched with the fam last night.
I knew nothing and saw no trailers but I was going to guess all female lead cast, couple of gay/trans sprinkled in, and a dumb male jock.
Could have won easy money.
That being said, it was eye rolling appeasement, not fundamentally dumping on the source material. And let’s be honest, the source material is a family friendly Halloween movie from most of our childhoods. It’s not good by any means or a sacred cow.
It was fine.
