Let me guess the black kids beat all of the white kids.

Black Hawk Down is pretty much a transcript of actual events.

Lincoln was just as bad too.

Lincoln took some liberties but was fairly accurate all around. It was nowhere near as historically inaccurate as the final act of Argo was.

One of the better movies to come out in the last 20 years when it comes to quality and historical accuracy is Apollo 13.

What about always having to inject a heroic woman or black guy when it either didn't happen or was very unlikely in the historical context?

I'm with ya, Rex. I sometimes refuse to watch a movie if I know they are going to rework key parts just to make the story better.

It makes movies like Apollo 13 all the better because they didn't have to embellish any parts of that movie.

i actually hate revisionist tales of stories you already know that are fiction

Gladiator/Braveheart etc...are all great movies loosely inspired by actual events with some/several/many loopholes available for bullshite to be added.

Hercules, Dracula, King Arthur and all these other untold stories are the ones that bother me.

All of them are terrible, they all shite on stories that are well known and documented pretty thoroughly by the original author.

who keeps spending there money watching these movies so that they can keep being remade

Here's a hint for you that will help you out in future movie watching endeavors. When a movie advertises BASED on a true story, usually that means that it's based on a true story and not a completely true story.

Twelve Years a Slave was very true to the book.

"The Great Debaters" was egregious. Not only was the story from a not-too-distant past, the characters were all actual historical figures with genuine names. The ending credits went on to tell their real-life biographies after the events of the movie, as if the movie events actually happened.

My biggest problem is that the story didn't have to be embellished to be inspiring. USC was prestigious enough for a small black college to make an historical breakthrough and impact, considering those same students weren't even allowed on most campuses. It's as though Oprah didn't trust us to make our own value judgments. I was manipulated and exploited.

The point of the movie was to be emotionally manipulative.

I liked King Arthur, and I bet you can't name its original author or Hercules' original author
