Apart from Madsen playing an American who dresses like Hungarian or slightly to the geographical left of Hungary European aristocrasy, and trying to be a mad Freud, which is weird, taking into account what surely was Anthony Hopkin´s most famous role in a US blockbuster (yes, he was perfect in The Gardener, which I believe is also an American movie), I´m enjoying this series.

What say y´áll?

He did look Spanish or Italian when seeing his ´therapist´at a crucial time.

I guess he takes into account his interlocutor and the situation.

Normally looks like a clown.

If it's the same one that came on TV (I believe on NBC) I couldn't understand anything the guy playing Hannibal was saying. I quit watching it because of that.

Uh...it's the best portrayal of Hannibal ever put in film. Fun performance, great great show. Wish it had found an audience.

Smacks a bit of the American Horror thing, with not getting crazy and surrealistic.

That said, I´m only on episode one, season two.

It´s very good, but as I said, this Hannibal Lector is only the same in what he is. Don´t understand the marked distancing from an ethnic standpoint.

Also, what is the X Files girl doing in this thing?

Hannibal is one of the greatest shows of the last ten years. It was so phenomenal, but unfortunately didn’t get the ratings it deserved. For fans of horror and crazy effects and artistic choice, it’s an absolute treat.

This. Unfortunately, no service (i.e. Netflix, Hulu) picked it up to continue it.

Netflix has flirted with the idea of bringing it back.

I never thought Gillian Anderson was all that attractive in X-Files but she is a fricking smokeshow in Hannibal. This coming from a guy who takes brunettes and redheads over blondes eight days a week no less.

With series like Mindhunter, The Fall and Bates Motel grabbing so much attention nowadays. I think Hannibal would have been better suited for a streaming platform. I can remember Hannibal coming on TV on Friday's & Saturday's at 9pm. That's a death sentence for a tv drama.

Yeah, it was on at a terrible time and would have done a lot better on a streaming platform.

Probably one of the most under appreciated shows of the past decade, I thought everything about it was great.

Were you drunk when you wrote this? Also, it's Mads Mikkelsen not Madsen.

I was not.

Anyways this series smacks of these NCS or NCIS series, there's way too many homicides I don't know what the producer told his cohorts to get this on air, but I don't see enough potential audience latent in the NCIS or NCS things.

This is too much of a sensory onslaught, and the mental part surely goes over their heads.
