Hard to top Caddyshack for quotes, actors, writers and longevity. I'll add Christmas Vacation. It's my favorite of the franchise and is one great scene after another.

Some Like it Hot is the epitome of greatest comedy though I also really love Caddyshack, Old School and Borat.

To me, it gets bonus points for "timelessness" across generations. I think dumb and dumber is funny as frick and a personal fave, but a 60 year old is going to think its trash. Airplane is great bc a 15 year old and a 65 year old can both find it equally as funny.
My dad watched Dumb & Dumber with me when he was in his sixty's and laughed exactly the way he did when we watched The Three Stooges. Same way he laughs at Harold Lloyd Watching a comedy with dad is funnier than the movie itself. I'm 56 and still like Dumb & Dumber.
Airplane is great too, as is Animal House (saw it in the theater as a college freshman), Blazing Saddles, Caddy Shack and Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World. I may like Trading Places more than Coming to America.
Grandma's Boy is another one I love. Office Space is the best work movie ever.

I quote Super Troopers a whoooole bunch. From a historical context, the Broken Lizard crew doesn't compare to Cleese, Brooks, Murphy, Carey or Belushi, but man, that movie is hilarious.

No way I could choose between Tommy Boy, Dumb and Dumber, and Caddyshack.
