The original pilot had a flashback of the Mad King killing Ned's dad and brother.

Im pretty sure it didn't but haven't watched it in a long time. Benioff and Weiss have specifically said they purposefully avoided flashbacks the first few seasons and didn't intend to ever have them.

It was one of my criticisms of the way they did some of the things like leaving out the Tysha story, especiall as it relates to Tyrion killing Tywin and all.

I'm talking about the original pilot that was filmed in 09. It never aired.

Edit: Here's Brandon Stark getting strangled to death:

Wish they would've kept that scene.

Wish they would've kept that in.

Yeah, I also have a problem with that.

It also makes me wonder what they'll do with Tyrion. If they make him sad and miserable over Shea that'll suck.

Plus no "wherever whores go"

So, there is a big event, a "MASSIVE WTF ending that will freak book readers out" at the end of episode 3. Jon's actor says it's the biggest thing they've filmed in the show.

It looks like it lines up with Sansa in Winterfell, but I'm not sure what would "freak us out".

ETA: I guess they could sacrifice Shireen, but I think everyone has pretty much seen that one coming.

They keep mentioning the controversial Sansa chapter in the new book, my guess is she kills Sweetrobin. I don't thjnk she kills LF yet and I don't think LF rapes her (the two other main theories I've seen)

The "biggest thing they've filmed in the show" part throws me off though because killing sweetrobin wouldn't meet that criteria.

Maybe Stoneheart makes her appearance?

They've confirmed she isn't in this season. I guess they could be lying, but even that wouldn't really meet the criteria. They really have to do something crazy like tear down the wall, reveal something about the others, or reveal Jon's parents. Maybe a dragon shows up at the wall.

With Iron Islands and a lot else being cut. I'm afraid there are going to be a lot more winds spoilers than I had thought. Apparently Stannis offers Jon Winterfell in E01.

Oh ok I didn't realize theyd confirmed Stoneheart wasn't gonna be in this season. That sucks, they missed a golden opportunity at the end of the last episode of season 4. In that case, I have no idea what the shocker could be.

I'm assuming she has to come in at some point. Interested to see the dealing between her and Brienne as it relates to Jamie.

I'm not going to be surprised if Jamie gets killed in Dorne soon. I can't think of another reason they would take him there.

Yea they must be trying to speed everything up if they really want to finish it in 7 seasons. They're cutting out a lot by sending Jaime to Dorne. Makes you wonder if the Brienne and Stoneheart stuff even matters in the long run or if it's just a filler in the books.

Already kind of bummed we are going to learn Sansa's story from the show since its caught up to the books. I know I'll still end up watching though.

No way that Jaime dies in Dorne.

Spoilers:

IMO he's the character to kill Cersei....in both the books and the show. No way that they end his story now.

Do you think he'll kill her after she kills Tommen?

I think the second Tommen drops dead, Jaime will enter the room to kill her.
