We have an unpaid intern for the summer, letting me know when this happens is his only job.

I understand the pressures you are under, LucasP. I'm trying to keep up the HR=HS revelation during your abstinence. All will be better once it is finally officially revealed.

One thing to remember is that the Outlaws & Hound are heading North, to go north from the Riverlands you have to cross the Twins.
A unit as small as the Brotherhood can probably infiltrate across at a fording site, assuming they can avoid Frey patrols. An army couldn't do that, but they could.
The question is - did the Knights of the Vale cross there (and if so, what was the price paid/promised) or did they sail across? If they sailed across, perhaps that's how Manderly got involved.

Though realistically they could probably get by fishing and being mercenaries.
Merchants, importers, freight carriers, fishing. Many trades a sea-faring people could go into.

Hell the Brotherhood, to the extent we've seen it in the show, could cross using a couple of fishing boats like Brienne and Pod. No reason to think the Twins would be an impediment to them.
The Knights of the vale would not need to cross the twins even if they marched on foot. They could also just sail up the east coast and march inland from there.

Little Finger has a decree from Tommen saying he's the Warden of the North after defeating the Boltons. I doubt they had to pay the Freys anything.

First I have heard of this but it seems to make sense. Can someone tell me more?

True and Cersei has few resources to figure out what's going on, beyond Qyburn's rudimentary reconstruction of the little birds in and around KL. She probably still trusts intel from LF at this point, at least about affairs external to KL.

I said I'd shut up about it, but it's a pretty cool theory that would make the show much more interesting if true. If you'd like to know more, simply Google "tiger droppings movie TV board LucasP"

Providing vicious "escort" services for merchants and freight carriers, right?

The theory makes almost not sense. Essentially the only textual support is that the description of both men is similar.
The HS was running a fricking soup kitchen/church in KL before almost randomly being catapulted to the top by Cersei's stupidity.
Howland Reed is a faithful adjerent of the Old Gods of the Forest, who almost certainly would want nothing to do with the Faith of the Seven.
The High Septon's motivations make much sense as a demagogue religious zealot than any sort of deep con infiltration by HR who is infamous for never leaving Greywater Watch.

As long as LucusP is not banned, I'm not worthy to go into detail. That has to come from him.
I just strive to create awareness.

I will say that it's unrealistic for a man to survive that many clean punches to the face. IRL, people are regularly killed or permanently brain damaged in street and bar fights with one good clean ungloved punch to the face. A full grown man sitting on you and having his full weight behind every punch is going to absolutely kill you after several good shots.
His hands were also in plate and coat (think leather and steel) its like he was punching him with brass knuckles.

After this battle, Jon's legend has to be huge, right? What's to stop a whole lot of people deciding Jon is someone they can get behind?
is it? he kinda got his arse kicked
LF kinda has him by the balls
Yes and no-- he had bad tactics but his legend as Warrior is starting to get pretty hyped-- I mean to face the charge and survive, to climb out of the pile of bodies (in a shot that echoed the Dany surrounded by slaves shot) and then to storm Winterfell (which had never fallen to siege) with at best 30 men and essentially kill Ramsey single handedly with a shield and his hands vs. a Bow-- that's pretty epic.
If there were rumors flying around that you were an unkillable hero of myth and legend-- lets just say that battle and the way it ended wouldn't hurt that myth.

frick that first article
What the frick part of that episode had to do with jons "honor"?
