Again.....I see your age. You are 90s child. You didn't grow up anticipating the new Indiana Jones movie or seeing ET and thinking it was just amazing. To you those movies just seemed juvenile to you, even as a kid. You are used to higher quality special effects.
To kids growing up in the 80s, those movies were truly magical to us.

Goonies is the answer but...
I didn't know the Sandlot had some crazy special effects. I guess I will have to watch it again.

Back to the Future was the same way. In retrospect the special effects compared to today were shitty. But I was 6 years old when I saw it and I was mind blown.

I'm not talking about that movie. I'm talking about the movies in general you grew up with. You were exposed to many movies with much better special effects at a younger age. So I could see how a child could think the Goonies was "silly" compared to other movies they were used to.

Im on nurse's side...goonies is all about being a kid in the 80's! Im not debating these two movies against each other cause they both are nostalgic in different ways. I grew up playing baseball so there is a place for sandlot but goonies is and always will be "THE Goonies" and better in my book!

ETA
Nevermind, I can see how your point fits in. Were't a lot of great action movies with amazing special effects back then so a really good action movie like the Goonies can be appreciated more by someone who saw it when it first came out.

I take my Goonie talk serious drexyl.
We used to reenact Goonies scenes as kids. I always ended up being the chick with the glasses (Stef) while my best friend always whined until she got to be the pretty redhead.

At least put pics in the OP.

sandlot is just so much more relatable.

This is true. I don't think the movies are really comparable because the genre of each is so different. If you pinned me down and told me I could only watch one of these movies ever again, I'd pick Sandlot because I can relate to the baseball side of it a little more. But I would definitely miss all of the great things about the Goonies.

I was a very goofy little kid with a big imagination. Me and another friend always watched Labyrinth every time we hung out at each other's house. We would recite that movie line by line while watching it. And we danced to all the songs
Also remember playing Thundercats at recess...I was the only girl playing with the boys so of course I was Cheetara

I was born in the 80's and consider myself more of an 80's kid than a 90's kid. Don't insult me like that.
I think Sandlot was just more relatable because of the baseball side of it not the special effects of Goonies(or lack thereof). Don't get me wrong I loved both movies. But I had an erector set as a kid and I was always playing baseball after school in the spring and summer.
To each their own.

Yeah I never played baseball. Like I said, I had a huge imagination and Goonies was perfect for that.

Omg nurse if I wasn't multiple beers in and on edge signal right now I'd bash you. You have no nostalgia towards Sandlot, of course you prefer goonies. And being a chick you've probably never played baseball, which is a huge factor. I bet you never even chewed tobacco and thrown up on somebody. Smh.

I've never explored caves under where I lived and found a pirate ship either.
But I understand what you are saying. Again...I liked Sandlot and thought it was a great movie. But if you put both in front of me and made me choose....obviously I'm gonna pick Goonies.
