Question for all of you Star Wars fans: what is the best order to watch the films? I have never seen them, but recently got them from a friend.

If you want to get creative with the order watch

4
5
2
3
6

If you want to watch 1 then plug it in between 5 and 2, but the plot for TPM is really irrelevant to the overall narrative of the series

How would you rank your ability to currently care about the midichlorians if you could not care less if they were erased?

Simple logistics.

Rank? Against what? The black plague? Are you thinking I said I could care less?

I don't know why it was shitty, maybe your dad was an alcoholic, maybe your mom slept around. I'm not your shrink and figuring that out isn't my job. I'm just saying you obviously had a very shitty childhood.

As a non fanboy I'll never understand the hate for the Prequels. Those original movies were not that great either.

Again, it doesn't matter if he thought of it in 1977 or for the prequels. It's still a bad idea.
Of course it does

no, it doesn't because it is a terrible idea and in Empire he has Yoda explain it and he doesn't mention midiclorians.

and ObiWan doesn't mention it either, so IDGAF what he may have thought about back in the 70's he didn't use it. That's the whole problem with Lucas, he got success and thinks it meant every thing he thought of was a great idea and it wasn't. By not leaving things alone and sticking to the basic premise is why people started to "hate" him and don't want him directing or writing the new movies.

Don't bother reasoning with this guy. Logic and diplomacy have failed, the only thing he's gonna understand is an arse beating via nerd rage. I got this.

I still say George was a victim of his own success and the Giant it had become. I don't think there was anyone that could go up to George and say "Um. No. Lets think about this some more."

no question, the sad part is it may be because he was jealous of the love and credit given to Kirshner and Kurtz with ESB

Beautifully, I might add.

For all the laughs we got from Frank with Sesame Street and The Muppet Show - he was a brilliant puppeteer - and (in constrast to the "dead" CGI period - hyperrealistic, yet void of any true sense of anima we have today) - he brought Yoda to life - not only that but, after Vader, Yoda is the best character in the Star Wars films that I acknowledge - better than Han and Chewie. Way better than Boba Fett.

so can someone who experience the Trilogy at the time, why did Boba get so much praise and worship? He is in like a handful of scenes between all 3 movies. I get that his character was expanded on more after the movies, but at the time why did fans latch onto him so quickly?

Terrible or not is what doesn't matter. It's his deal. Just accept it and move on. It cannot be undone.

Because he looks cool. Also... bounty hunter for a criminal empire. The fact he was mysterious was a huge draw as well. You hint at something more and let fans fill in the blanks.

Boba Fett stopped being a good character the moment they tried to flesh him out.

He was the science fiction equivalent of "The Man With No Name" - Clint's character in many of the Sergio Leone movies - silence is golden. Implies he is a man of action, not words.
