Pipe dream to think they actually cast Authur Dayne for the show.
It would be awesome no doubt but Dayne was larger than life even for the books where he's only mentioned in passing.

The show would have suffered if they used the ages from the books for all the characters imo.
Remember all of the house sigils. It's essential to understanding what's going on between the lines.

No shite. Has anyone brought this up yet? The red priestess that Tyrion and Varys came across early on in Season 5 claimed that Daenerys was chosen by the Lord of Light as well. Why aren't the red priestesses on the same page? Are they full of shite or is their god full of shite?

Yeah. From what I remember of this it sounded kind of like maybe a younger Ned Robert and maybe Ned's brother (Brandon?) I think a separate casting had something like a somewhat stern father and a housemaid who was motherly but strict. I was thinking maybe Ned' dad and Ole Nan in the same bit with the kids?
Here's a question for anyone who knows - I'm assuming these casting calls are for parts that are speaking parts (i.e.: not extras) but perhaps not ultra important long term characters. It seems like for the biggies they would more go directly to actors they want instead of putting out casting calls. But I admittedly know nothing at all about casting movies so that could be totally wrong.

That casting was most deffinitly the Tarlys

There were two different ones though - the first was definitely the Tarleys. It said something about the great solider, martinet, and a mom and son also. That was pretty definitely Sam's dad, mom and the brother that was chosen over Sam to carry on the line/get the castle, etc.
The other IIRC was for small parts with maybe just few words that had something like a father and a housemaid that was kind but strict. I took those as separate from the Tarleys who I think will have bigger parts (especially Sam's dad).

It could have been cold calculation. In the books, every one of the Red Priests is Team Dany.
And she has to have known that Stannis' "Lightbringer" was a fraud. Aemon knew it and led Jon to the proof of it. So, if she knows the sword is a fraud, she knows Stannis is a fraud. I don't know what other conclusion to draw, especially seeing as how she killed Renly, Shireen, wanted to kill Gendry/Edric and was the reason Stannis was defeated.

Legendary Fighter: A man in his thirties or forties who is a great swordsman and a paragon of knighthood. He carries a hugely famous sword on his back. The show is seeking a very impressive swordsman for the role- the best in Europe, for a week of filming fight scenes for a season 6 role. His ethnicity/race isn’t specified, unlike many other roles.
I hope it's Dayne cause it would mean TOJ, and really amp things up. His title is the coolest nickname there is too.
With Bloodraven training Bran, it could be him too. He had a pretty famous sword.

But we've already seen blood raven and he's not a legendary fighter I don't believe

I'm just saying who possibilities could be. He is already in the show, so they could show some history on him.
He may have not been the best swordsman ever, but he was a pretty big badass.
Hell it could be Rhaegar he beat Dayne to give Lyanna the roses. I haven't found anything saying he had a famous sword though

Not in the way it was described atleast

Oh for sure, I agree. I'm just saying it's only a select company that this casting can be when they through the "famous sword" in it.
I think most people want it to be Dayne, and I sure do. The only other person I really see it to be is Bloodraven, cause he's in the show and had Dark Sister.
Who is legendary with a famous sword? That really sounds like SOTM. I think Bloodraven would be more infamous than legendary.
I mean even if they cast a younger Ned he's not known has "legendary" his sword is/was more "famous" than him

And I'm sure we'll find out who Jon really is at the beginning of next season, but I really hope the next book comes out before then.

Bloodraven was an archer first and foremost... So was Howland Reed.
Rhaegar was a highly skilled swordsman.
I think it could be the resurrected Jon Snow.
He has a special named sword.
It makes perfect sense they would change actors and appearance of Jon Snow 2.0. They would save a fortune not having to pay Kit.

No, no it doesn't

Yeah, maybe just Jon's stunt double

Might as well recast Maisie Williams with no name since she'll have a different face every episode now
