So important that he is not and will not be in the show.
What does that have to do with anything?
Also, you'd think the show would include a character that you think is so important. Obviously, the show disagrees, and they are in direct communication with the author, so....

I mean really call me a Ole Miss fig unprovoked in a game of thrones thread.
You lost the #1 WR in the league, as well as Core, and Adeblahblahjqz#$@ayo is a punk, and your only good RB and two 1st rd. pot-head linemen are gone.
You're going to get reamed in the arse and like it like the pretentious, floppy-haired Oxford queers that you are. Know that shite.

I don't care how well Jon explains it, the vast majority of the Realm sees the Night's Watch only real duty is to keep the Wildlings out. The Night's Watch has loathed the Wildings for thousands of years, and that will blind them to the reasoning behind Jon's actions.
He never even tried to explain. If you're letting thousands of foes through the wall, you better sit your arse down and reasonably explain to your inferiors. I'm not saying what he did was wrong even though it very well could have backfired. But there is no excuse to not have a 10 hour discussion telling his brothers what the deal was.

Damn, I didn't mean to start a two page crapfest over fAegon.
But yeah, the fact that Golden Company (which was founded as a Blackfyre army) is his army, Varys was trying his best to kill Dany (which they kind of just glossed over on the show with a few words from Tyrion), and Illyrio's wife and connection with Varys all are pretty good indicators that Aegon is Blackfyre. I mean, why even devote time to creating the backstory of the Blackfyre rebellion unless it's going to payoff at some point in the books.
I think Tyrion will figure it out at some point, if he hasn't already, and inform Dany what he is...if GRRM ever gets around to bringing them to-freaking-gether.

Dude, you lifted this from a Preston Jacobs video, nearly verbatim.

Well I mean we don't know that Varys didn't.
Jaime makes this pretty damn clear that he did this, and he was likely in his vicinity for almost all of their meetings. If there was anyone alive who would know this, it would be him.
quote:
We know Rhaegar wanted to call a council to dethrone Aerys. Could have been Varys was plating things in his and his allies' ears.
We know that Varys was the one who ratted him out.
quote:
You think him and Illyrio would have the same power through Rhaegar or a boy they helped when he had nothing to offer them. Aegon owes them everything.
But they have no real motive if Aegon is who he thinks he is. Sure, power, but there's no real connection between baby Aegon and Varys/Illyrio. Illyrio in particularly doesn't make sense why he'd risk war with Westeros over this long shot scheme. Illyrio loves three things: riches, food, and his deceased wife. Illyrio doesn't strike me as the type of man to risk his own skin for a level of power he already has in Pentos. The fact that he's fulfilling his dying wife's wish and to make his son the most powerful person in the world make sense for him to risk everything over.
As for Varys, it doesn't make much sense either what he does if Aegon is not blood related to him; being a blood relative to Aegon puts this all into perspective though: this is all for vengeance against the Targaryens, the Realm as a whole, and for what happened to him in his youth. Varys already had plenty of power under the Lannisters, and I don't think he'd really get much more with Aegon in charge. Varys doesn't strike me as the type of guy who only wants his own holdfast, since he could have gotten that years ago if he really wanted it. And Varys is far too full of shite for me to believe he actually does what he does "for the Realm".
Now there's no qualms with their characters. It puts everything into perspective.

But the explanation is short and sweet, and he did explain it to his men: The Wildlings will go through the Wall one way or another, it's just if they're going to be living or dead, and they can add to their numbers to stop the Others from coming across the Wall. It's a very simple explanation, but try to explain to ISIS that they'd need to ally with Israel to survive. I don't think they care about the reasons since they loathe them entirely.

He is on the show, but that doesn't erase the fact that, like Dany herself said, Varys was the one that the crown put in charge of finding her and killing her (which he almost succeeded in doing if Jorah had just taken his pardon like he was supposed to.) And the explanation as to why he did it was just kind of glossed over with a few words from Tyrion in response to Dany.

I agree. Varys I think is the most radically changed character from the book to screen. I think that Varys is totally genuine in the show in that he does want the best ruler for the Realm. They also totally fail to show why Varys is so feared. Varys is a child killing monster in the books and loves being full of shite. The only real difference between him and LF is their level of lust and cockiness.

He said it one time. ONE. And it was after a heated discussion in which Jon had already decided everything and told them to get out right after. He could have handled it much better. Just one simple "Look guys I know you all hate the wildlings. But if we don't let them through the wall they will feed the dead army. I promise you I am not doing this because I ran with them for a bit and love them. I think it the best thing for the Night's watch and the realm. If those sneaky fricks try anything, we'll kill them all" You know something to let his men know what is up.
Jon handled it terribly.

Damn Blue, you're getting a bit personal today, like more than usual.
And don't you ever tell me to let it go, you son of a bitch. I will continue to advocate for the truth until it is known. Don't you dare censor me, you fascist frick!!!

But the reason is obvious, and I'm not so sure he only said it once. I think they all realized that the Wildlings were all going to die if they stayed North of the Wall, they just didn't care. They may figure what's another 10,000 wights when they've probably already got hundreds of thousands of them and that the Wildlings would just flee south regardless and rape the countryside leaving them to deal with the Others. Jon couldn't guarantee they wouldn't do this once the Others attacked, so they were going to kill him over this regardless.

Oh good. More fan fiction.

Dude, why so antagonistic today? You're like howland towards cersei when he wouldn't listen to her and threw her in the cells. What gives?
