I'm sure it's the same one. And yeah I agree that it's not really spoilerish bc the readers don't even know but I think it's probably based in some extra book exposition that we haven't received yet.

Either way you're right it shouldn't be discussed here.

we're talking about specifically not posting something that isn't even spoilerish, but some people may not want to know. We aren't spoiling anything (I don't even know any spoilers).

Well I believe you won't you rebel bastard you, but that's more than I can say for the rest of em.

I don't want to see Tyrion dead so I obviously want Oberyn to win, but he won't have Bronn or Pod anymore. And him and varys were less than cordial at the trial (frick was up with that?) So I'm having trouble seeing him live through it. I think it's the mountain, or some other outcome we can't see yet.

Valar morghulis and all that.

If the Mountain kills Oberyn, doesn't that mean Tyrion's head gets lopped off? This is George R.R. Martin we're talking about here, so Tyrion might already be doomed, but I think Tyrion lives. The only way I can see that happening is if Oberyn kills the Mountain or if they both die from the fight.

That last one might not even save Tyrion. I don't know the complex laws of trial by combat in Westeros. If a tie goes to the court, then the only way Tyrion doesn't die is if Oberyn kills the Mountain.

So, that's my prediction. Gregor Clegane is going down. FINISH HIM! FATALITY!

Also, for someone who's only four and a half feet tall, Tyrion sure does love him some trial by combat, doesn't he?

No way Sansa rats out Littlefinger.

I really hope Oberyn wins, which means he probably wont

I'm not too worried about who dies in this episode, but I am interested in seeing the set up for the 9th episode of the season, which has traditionally been the most talked about episodes of each season. That being said, I want to see the Mountain die fighting someone like Prince Oberyn, not Arya Stark. Does Stannis try taking KL again or will he even be involved in this episode?

IIR they said something prior to the start of the season to the effect that this year was going to be different in that the final 3 episodes are all "episode 9s". Also this years finale will be a true finale rather than a season wrap up like in the past.

What do you mean, a true finale?

That's good to hear. Previously I felt like they were too anti climatic.

The previous seasons all build up to some climatic event that was resolved in episode 9 (Ned, Blackwater, Red Wedding) and then the 10th episode was primarily used to show the aftermath of those events and sort of set up the beginning of the next season.

Obviously the finales were good but they were somewhat anti climatic except for the final scene they put in like dany coming out of the fire, thousands of white walkers and to a lesser degree danny taking Yunkai.

I'm not sure what they'll do to make it a "true" finale though.

I'll be torn between this and (hopefully) ULL baseball, but I have to know what happens. I'm definitely not missing the epic duel.

I don't have HBO or HBOGo so I always have to watch 30-40 minutes after it airs and usually so many people are trying to watch the same video that it's super slow and I'll have to let it buffer for a bit. I usually check into the weekly thread around 11:30-12.

Where do you watch?

I post and check reactions when something big happens, but I don't follow the threads. How many people have been banned over this so far?
