Just finished watching the series. I really enjoyed it. However, was curious as to what happened to the McCoy's in the last season. He was only a freshman when he was first on the show. Then he and his father disappeared the last season even though he would've been a senior. I don't recall anything happening to them other than just not being in the final season. Did I miss something as to what happened to them?

Tyra and Crusifictorious murdered him.

I could be wrong but I feel like Lance was actually in like 7th grade when the show starts. Just still playing at east dillon in the late seasons.

the timeline of FNL is definitely funny. especially when it comes to Riggins. I think he was on the team in season 3, which means he was a sophomore in season 1 when he hooked up with that mom that lived next door. I assume he never failed and got held back otherwise he wouldn't be playing football.
with Landry, he played on East Dillon in Season 4 but not season 5. So I guess you could say he was a freshman in season 1. That means he murdered a dude as a sophomore.

JD McCoy = Chris Sims + Colt McCoy
Vince Howard = Vince Young
Matt Saracen = Major Applewhite
Luke Cafferty = Christian McCaffrey + Jordan Shipley
Lance = Matt Damon
Santiago = Aaron Hernandez

I read a theory somewhere that he left Dillon and was the qb they played against in the championship game in season 5.

FNL Wiki says he left after they lost to East Dillon at the end of season 4. Another question is how many Heismans did Voodoo Tatum win at LSU?

I know the show was basically a teen age soap opera, but I really enjoyed it.
I've been watching it again recently on Amazon Prime.

If Saracen was really the GOAT, then everybody wouldn't be leaving him all the time

I swear I remember there being a line in there about how his family packed up and left town or something.

I purchased the DVD set off amazon a few days ago
I love the series. I wish it would’ve gone a few more seasons.

Landry Clarke is a somewhat nerdy freshman in Season 1. He is the best friend of Panthers quarterback Matt Saracen, but wasn't on the football team in Season 1. He joined the team to impress his father in Season 2. He has his own band and is in love with Tyra Collette, to whom he lost his virginity. Landry is based on Brian Chavez. Like Chavez, Landry is best friends with the quarterback. Both characters have very good grades and await a life outside of Dillon /Odessa. In Season 4, having been zoned for East Dillon High, Landry makes the team as a kicker and makes the season-ending game-winning field goal against the Panthers. In Season 5, Landry goes off to college at Rice University in Houston.

Yeah, with the way the timeline was set up, a lot of those characters were only 15 year old sophomores in season 1. That gives season 1 a bit of a Chris Hansen vibe.
