Not sure the first movie but I remember the first one without my parents. ET at the theater in donaldsonville with my older cousins.

Hook. I was a huge Peter Pan and pirate fan as a child. Parents surprised me. They said we were going to Home Depot, but they took me to see Hook instead. I'll never forget that.

Hard to say. I remember "Gus" the Disney movie about a field goal kicking mule. Wiki says '76 on that one but I also remember Star Wars on the hood of my moms ford LTD at the drive-in in '77.
Just remembered seeing "Escape to Witch Mountain" and Wiki says '75 so that must be it.

An American Tail is the first movie I can actually remember seeing in theaters.

The earliest I can definitely say was Empire Strikes Back. But looking at IMDB for 1979 The Black Stallion or The Black Hole might have been. I know I saw them when I was really young, I just can't remember if it was in theaters.
