I see it as evidence that either people arent avoiding the message or they dont think the disney/marvel film Captain America: BNW has the message in it because it is the 2nd best selling ticket of the year and was #1 by a mile until Minecraft came out a few weeks ago.

From what I've been told, Captain America BNW wasn't woke. I don't know, because I haven't seen it.

That said, the Captain America show was AWFUL and filled with woke garbage. That fact absolutely affected the potential of this movie.

We were discussing original movies as in his OP. He throws captain America, a massive bomb, into the mix then tries to say that debunks a totally separate conversation. This dude is dumb and dishonest.

YOU said people were avoiding those movies because of the "message".

I pointed out a different movie that people didnt avoid and asked if that was because it didnt have the "message'?

Rather than answering like an adult you threw a tantrum like a child

It can’t be the fact that

A) - The super majority in this country despise Hollywood because they are a bunch of sick fricks

B) - The movies they make these days fricking suck

C) - The CGI shite looks fake as frick

D) - have to read closed captioning to understand their mumbling

E) - theaters have turned to dumps since COVID. The last 4 different theaters I have been to were trash- once amazing theaters but after COVID they gave up trying to keep them nice and clean and upgraded

Man this is such a sad reality. The closest theater to my house is an absolute dump now.

You can hear the stickiness from never mopping on your shoes as you walk around.

I love watching a good movie in a theater

I have 4 huge theaters by my house.. all four have the leather reclining seats. They were wonderful

Here is what all of the seats in each theater (in different cities) look like - they are all now nasty like this

The general public doesn't go to the theaters as much as they used to and the slate of movies released so far this year has been absolutely dreadful.

As somebody excited to go see The Amateur, I thought it was pretty mid. It might’ve been my expectations.

Similar experience. COVID shutting down theaters, and then the Hollywood writers strike, has decimated this industry. What happens to Hollywood if most of the theaters shut down?

We've had 2 shut down in my area since COVID. When I saw Minecraft with the family opening weekend, one of the workers said it was the busiest it's been all year. I didn't even have to wait in line for popcorn.

I don't see how these places are making money.

Well another big problem is the fact that Minecraft (for example) will be streaming on one of the platforms next week

The days when movies couldn’t get released to streaming platforms until after a certain amount of days has ruined the theater experience

They need to go back to the 90 day release thing they used to have before COVID

Then why do you argue so much? How do you know if it had a message or not?

If the reports are true, it's about -$20 million from breaking even.

You can spin it however you want, it was a financial disappointment.

I'm conflicted on this. The experience at theaters is so bad now that it's hard for me to advocate for going back to this. The theaters do share some of the blame with the prices they charge.

I spent $200 taking my family to watch Minecraft. Granted, I went all out. Got the Minecraft popcorn tin, the cup with the character on it, the stuffed wolf, all that, but that only added $50 to my spend. It's rare we find a movie all three of my kids are interested in, so why not splurge on it?

Still, $150 for a movie and snacks in a subpar venue is really hard to justify. I'd much rather "rent" it for $30, but $20 worth of snacks, and watch at home. Hard to think of what I'm missing by doing that.

I asked Madking if it did. He refused to answer though repeatedly
