Outstanding movie.
If you like a late 60s/early 70s NYC feel then you will love it. A great cop movie, great virtue/hero movie. Al Pacino is brilliant but the whole cast is fantastic as well. Definitely captures the frustration of battling an entrenched corrupt bureaucracy.

Seen it.
Little too much overindulgence and overacting for my taste.
Prefer Serpico/Godfather/Dog Day Afternoon Pacino.

Frank: I'm a marked man in this department. For what?
District Attorney Tauber: I've already arranged a transfer for ya'.
Frank: To where? China?

Gun shop owner: That gun takes a 14 shot clip. You expecting an army?
Frank: No. Just a division.

I had never seen it before watching Charlie Day's performance in the Always Sunny episode "Bums: Making a Mess All Over the City." After watching Serpico, it makes the Sunny episode even funnier.

That’s what I meant by the full Pacino experience

I’ll have to check that out, thanks.

I know that Pacino gets many kudos for G1 and G2, and rightfully so. To a degree, his career longevity and occasional *ahem* interesting choices of roles over time (something that Deniro has quite literally jumped the shark with) has obviously raised questions about his legacy. However, between Michael Corleone of the 1970s plus that string of gritty 1970s roles (And Justice for All..., Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico) solidifies him as one of the best American actors, ever. And, outside of G1 and G2, Serpico may be his best performance (and there are a shite ton of great performances on that resume - arguably more than Brando and Deniro, truth be told).

I think he’s definitely one of the greatest.

Devil’s Advocate and Scent of a Woman are my favorite Pacino performances.

My dad took me and my sister to it when it first came out. All I remember was boobs. It was a don't tell your mother moment.

I liked Pacino in Glengarry Glen Ross

Yeah GGGR is probably his best performance outside of The Godfather’s

When I was in 6th Grade, they had a couple of seniors from the high school come in to lecture us about drug abuse. They told us that we should have our parents take us to see The Panic in Needle Park (Pacino's first starring role). Turns out they were telling us 10 and 11 year olds to see an R rated film that had the characters turning to prostitution and selling drugs to kids. A couple of days later the seniors returned to apologize to us, and to tell us to NOT see the movie.
