The movie was uneven, but there were some pretty funny moments.

SPOILER ALERT ************************************

The dead panda shot was REALLY funny.

Agreed...It had its moments...and getting back to Cruise...I guess it was seeing a crazy scientologist dress up as an overweight Jew dancing like a thug that got a rise out of me...if it was anyone else in the cast, I probably wouldn't have found it as funny. But with Cruise, I got a big kick out of it.

I haven't read any of this thread but.......I want to watch this movie, and do not hold high expectations for it....I'm just hoping to be entertained. Should I bother?

Good, it isn't worth any high expectations. It's a entertaining, not very funny, but entertaining. I'd watch it.

the agent was the best part of the movie

a film about the agent with MM would be pretty good

i thought robert downey jr was funny not hilarious or hysterical but funny. The rest not so much. Jack black had a few good lines, ben stiller hasn't really done anything worth watching since heavyweights.

MM character wasn't used enough for me to like him or dislike him.

Cruises character eh i could of done without it but had no problem with it. I wanted more Nick Nolte and the explosives guy.

Very funny at times, but the last thirty was monotonous and dragged.

Baloo is right, Downey Jr, Simple Jack/Don't Go Full.., Cruise, the best parts of the film..but Jack Black's role flopped hard.

Has jack black done anything thats been remotely good?

shallow hal was the best thing he's ever done. Except maybe his small role in mars attacks.

High Fidelity and School Of Rock, he did about as much as he could for what there was to work with.

Some would say Bongwater, Orange County, Shallow Hal,etc..

eh i can see high fidelity so i'll better ask my question

what has jack black done as the leading role that was worth a shite.

orange county was freaking boring. I had high expectations for the movie when it came out and i think i slept through it in the theaters.

It was cheesy as shite.....but not horrible.

I like Jack Black, but at the same time, there is something about the dude that irks me.

We watched it twice this weekend. We laughed our asses off.

Hats off to Stiller for giving all of the big laughs to the rest of the cast.

Yeah, Cruise and McConahy steal the show.

I thought it was entertaining.
I actually like Black in it. I think it was mostly his facial expressions at times.

I liked it, generally, but I had low expectations. Ben Stiller was funny once, but now he's just recycling the same thing over and over again. He could have just as easily been doing Zoolander two.

Downey was awesome. He wasn't hysterically funny, but I think that was the writer's fault, not him. His performance was fun to watch, though.

Tom Cruise was funny, too. He's underrated because he's a total fricking lunatic.

Saw it last night and thought it was a pretty funny movie. Robert Downey continues to amaze. The whole scene leading up to Lead Farmer was hilarious.
