Very impressed.

Liked it better than Tobey Maguire's....not that those were bad. Except for emo spiderman, that was awful.

I guess they hoped the audience would just forget the whole Peter Parker's dad mystery after focusing all of their marketing on it

They never forgot about it.
Peter went to Conors to find out more about his dad.
Then who we believe is Electro asks if Conors said anything about Peter's father

There seemed to be a few scenes from the previews that didn't make it into the film. It looked like they just gutted the movie literally weeks before release.

I did enjoy the emo take on pp I guess. He felt more like Spider-Man, but I didn't like it too much. Perhaps the sequel can be awesome

Yes, it is finally a Spider-Man movie that I can get behind. This one was much better than any of the Tobey/Snaggletooth movies. I do wish they had waited to cast Emma Stone, and bring her on as MJ. Her personality just seems more suited for the role than Gwen Stacey.

Just watched it last night as well. My thoughts:

-Peter Parking casting was soooo much better

-The Peter/Gwenn romance was painful. I know it's an action, comedy movie, but I just wish it would've seemed a little more believable

-I also wish they had delved into Peter's dad as well, but it seems like they were hinting that the black asian dude killed them and the plane crash wasn't an accident

-Thought the giant gas dispensing thing was pretty lame. We have this thing that we can just shoot this giant Polio-cure cloud into the air but we're not using it because someone could put a deadly toxin in it. Lol, wut?

All in all I definitely liked it more than the McGuire one.

Of all of the recent marvel remakes, this was by far the worst one, and that includes Captain America.

Yeah I'm confused why some think this is terrible. Decent story with a much better peter Parker. Obviously you get all the action that comes along with superhero movies. Thought the actors had pretty good chemistry. I can see it not being someone's favorite cause it is hard to beat Spiderman 2, but I can't see it being terrible.

Seriously?

Spiderman 2 is one of the top 5 (maybe even 3) comic book movies IMO. It's easily the best of that trilogy.

This movie got the web shooters right. I defy anyone to find another reason for it to exist. Is this really a story that needs to be retold every 10 years?

I have to completely disagree with you...I have seen the Toby I, probably about 4 times, I saw Toby II only once, and I have never seen Toby III because I thought Toby II was so shitty that I refused to be conned into wasting my time on another.

I hope you are kidding.

I preferred the way the Tobey movies did the web shooting than the new one even though the new one was more like the comic book.

I kind of like the Tobey ones more bc they had more action. The new one had a better Parker, but I give no shuts about Parker. I don't go to see Spiderman bc I want to see a high school kid mope around about his uncle.

he's not, most ppl say that 2 is easily the best of that trilogy, and it gets a lot of mention as one of the best comic movies ever.

Do you think the second one will go into detail? I never read the comics so I wouldnt know, but is this "secret" something that is told in the comics?

I liked that they didnt forget that Peter was a freakin genius in the comic books, and had a lot of sarcasm in the Spiderman persona. Tobey played Peter as more of a dork.

I really liked the first two Spiderman movies. But 3 ruined the trilogy for me. It was awful. And the thing that ruined it the most was the way they did Venom. Its like they combined the villains of Venom and Carnage.
