Its not just streaming shows. House of the Dragon had 2 years between seasons 1 and 2. Season 2 came out last summer and season 3 won't even start filming until next month with a 2026 release date.
And before that, there was a 2 year gap between the last 2 seasons of GOT.
Its practically every big budget series nowadays having long waits between seasons, whether streaming or still aired through traditional TV / cable.
