Oh there definitely was. There just weren't as many units nor as much time outdoors this time around. It was a pretty cool tour though. The scene where Aragorn's horse picks hip up by the water was actually somebody's back yard
Rivendell (that wasn't cgi) was like a 50 foot little cut out in a public park.

Why is Return of the King not getting any love?
That was a great movie from start to finish.
Also I agree 100% with a previous poster about how the Hobbit underground scene was very cartoonish.
I said to my wife multiple times in the theater how unrealistic it was that they would keep falling hundreds of feet hitting rocks and falling through bridges and just brush off the dirt and keep running. I joked that it was like looney toons.
That was a great movie from start to finish.

That's because it didn't actually happen that way. It got exaggerated in the retelling by the dwarves and now by bilbo. That's why the hobbit is different from lotr.
