Fargo series 2 questions SPOILERS

In season 1 did I miss something or did billy bob Thornton go pick up the cash suitcase after driving the supermarket guy crazy? For some reason my intro screen shows him in the snow holding the suitcase of cash but I don't see that. Seems like the last scene after supermarket guy buried the cash is his son's wreck. If he doesn't get the cash what was the whole point of driving the guy insane? He just give up on it?

I think there were multiple reports of UFO sightings around that area around the same time frame in real life.

Early Fargo I think played a bit off of the movie Fargo opening “The following story is true...(yada yada)”. The stories are realistic enough to where you don’t really second guess, then the movie/show throws in something real rediculous. S1 did it too with the raining fish scene which was blamed on a tornado.
I think that’s what they were going for. I don’t particularly think it added much, but it didn’t ruin S2 by any means for me. Some of the most fun I’ve had watching a show week to week as it aired

Fargo is right there along with The Leftovers as 2 of the greatest beta male shows of the past decade. Men that film their husbands getting backdoored by Terrell love these 2 shows.
