That's about how I felt as well. It was an alright movie, nothing great, and just some incredibly lazy writing. I'm also not a Pedro Pascal fan and overall, I think Marvel went in thinking, we can't screw up this franchise again, let's just make something safe.

I was never a big believer in the whole superhero fatigue argument, you really just need to make good movies for people to show up, but after the launch of Disney+, the fatigue is definitely real.

More Mole Man could have really brought in some balance from a straight forward cookie cutter movie. But idk.

And I saw some reviews saying there was less funny quips than usual. Maybe there were but it definitely had a good amount of attempts and comedy quips. The Silver Surfer was about to take them down at light speed and several jokes were made from Johnny. The problem is it wasn’t that funny. The first one maybe. Mole Man was by far the funniest character and we only saw him for seconds. But Marvel has to stay on track. Less freedom. Maybe they learned from this one.

5/10 for me. Just a very wooden movie. I remember the first Avengers and the pizazz it had ….. lacks here. I think Hollywood just sucks now. And we are stuck in the age of suck. I am not one bit excited about Doom- not even RDJ can save this.
