Idris Elba would be a perfect James Bond. He has the suaveness and he has the look of a physically able man. He's British and he is an excellent actor. I could care less if he's black.

How many Chinese, Hispanic or Indians are named James or have a last name like Bond?

There is some leeway with the character in the sense that it should be a physically able suave good looking British guy. That's the character so in my mind he can be white or black.

Bond is a British secret agent who is suave while still being a bad arse. Idris Elba has the looks and the chops acting wise. He's British. Annie screwed up by going the way of forced diversity, and poor casting.

I can understand the resentment had they cast Will Smith or Jaime Foxx but that's not the case.

If you have seen one Bond movie you have seen them all. The concept of saving the world with suave and cool gadgets while slaying poon and kicking the butt of some great villain. What makes them different is that each actor portrayed Bond in their own unique ways. Tackling the concept of "James Bond" with a new actor during all the reboots has been what kept the franchise so strong.

The character of James Bond is so much more than just a white guy. I think if you had to limit the character in any way it's that he be British and male. The closest thing to being white in the UK from a western perspective is being black. You'd never confuse Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis from being from similar cultural and social backgrounds or really any black from America.

Blacks in the UK have ingrained themselves in the culture as far as socially, politically and culturally. Religion as well. Bond can't be Indian or Pakastani or a Muslim but he can be a white or black British citizen.

Having a traceable white British ancestry really does nothing for the modern Bond character. Idris brings everything you would want in a traditional cast actor that would play Bond except white skin. And let's be honest Americans who are the primary target audience for cinema and film view blacks from other countries like the UK and Europe in a different light however ignorant that may be.

Idris Elba should be the next Bond as I would be excited to see his take on it. If he brings his A game and the writers bring theirs with the script and leave race in the background where it belongs, we could have a good run of new Bond movies.

I am not saying he should. I just would be intrigued if they went that route, and I think he is literally the only black actor who could handle the character. Simply based on his in film swagger.

I would be 100% against any other black actor. He is the only one who could do Bond justice imo.

As far as acting style is concerned. There is not a young British actor I could think of who would be better fit for the character. If Elba were white, and younger. He might have a chance to be the best Bond ever. I can easily see him play Bond similarly as he did Roque in The Losers.

Outside of Ewan, does anyone besides Freaxzen and I have any ideas for a white James Bond from the younger crowd of British actors? The problem is that all of the young British talent is somewhat on the nerdy side for the most part.

Even two guys I mentioned before come across as nerdy, Hoult and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

The least nerdy guys out of that group are Alex Pettyfer, Kit Harrington, Jamie Bell, Theo James, Egerton, Joe Dempsie, Matthew Lewis(only because he has gotten jacked recently), and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

So our choices are a guy who can't act, John Snow, Bell, Four, a guy who was already a British spy, someone I've never heard of, Neville Longbottom, and another guy who can't act.

The only three white and British/Scottish/Irish guys I can think of, who might could handle the role are Fassbender, Caville, and Hardy. Caville being a maybe.

Edit: I'll add Luke Evans and Gerard Butler(meh).

I like Ewan as a man, and generally as an actor. I like to support his movies as well, because of the outreach he does around the world. He just wouldn't work as Bond. Plus, something you may not have noticed, he isn't in a ton of even halfway big movies anymore. Last movie I can remember seeing him in, was the one with Gina Carano where he tried to have her killed. After being passed over once for Bond, and with his acting career somewhat stalled. I don't think they would cast him.

I think he is too big at this point. I don't think he would want to sign on to do something that locks him in to 3-5 movies. Yeah, he agreed to Suicide Squad at first, but right now I kinda doubt it would get a sequel.

The only movie he has ever done that had, or will have, a sequel was Mad Max, and it still isn't 100% that he will be in the next one. Unless I missed something.

You will not give a serious response, only emotion based drivel. Nor will you entertain an actual discussion on potential actors. I put plenty of meat on the bone for us to discuss a group of white actors but you refuse.
