Even if I didn’t “have“ to see it because Spider-Man comes out literally a month later, I’d gladly see it. Marvel is what it is, and as s Marvel fan, it’s well known that even the mediocre ones offer some pretty good stuff.

They still have Fantastic four and X-Men. They'll be fine long term.

Ah yes the crumbling of Disney's superhero movie run. Most of us figured it would happen after Endgame. I only see Spiderman and Guardians movies doing well for the foreseeable future.

Will this movie have any impact on the shared universe?

The trailers made it look like a fairly isolated side story.

Definitely not. The same team from Thor: Ragnarok returned and made Thor: Love and Thunder, and people lost their minds about Ragnarok, so that will definitely make a bundle and be universally beloved

After what happened in WandaVision and then the TV shows opening up the multi-verse, people are definitely going to go see the next Doctor Strange

And Ant-Man is going to be bringing back the character who appeared at the end of Loki, that’s definitely going to draw some intrigue.

Black Panther might be the only 2022 movie that could be a mess, mainly because of the loss of Boseman and also because the lead actress is spreading propaganda on set and alienating a lot of people

They knocked it out of the park with Shang Chi. They'll be fine. This is the company that screwed the pooch with Thor 2 and then rebounded with Ragnarok.

There's actually nothing on the Marvel horizon that looks appealing in the least

Spider-Man
Thor
Dr. Strange

All coming with within the next 10 months. Maybe not appealing to you but there is substantial hype for all of these.

Not to mention Guardians 3, Ant-Man 3, Fantastic 4 and Black Panther 2

DC could have easily snatched their momentum if they had just given Snyder the keys to the kingdom and advanced his Darkseid/Justice League ideas, but it seems they won't be doing any of that.

I have never once been excited for this movie and then the trailers came out and the costumes are so damn boring and uninspired. At least in the comics they had batshit insane costumes.

It honestly looked like some bad studio tried to make a Marvel movie and just made up a bunch of random heroes to avoid copyright lawsuits.

I don’t know anything about the comics and this is the vibe I got from the trailer. Nothing about it looked interesting

We'll see this in the theater. Don't have high hopes.

I doubt that "forced diversity" alone would be the downfall of this film. It's an extremely low-tier concept on the Kirby scale to begin with. Pushing non-white, non-straight actors in just doesn't matter. It's not the Fantastic Four.

It's all on the writers and director. You could take the most diversity forced cast and hand them to James Gunn (which both Marvel and DC have done) and he would whip the writers and cast into a great superhero movie.

Hopefully this doesn't scare DC away from dipping deeper into the Kirby-verse, because I'd love a kick-arse Kamandi franchise or Demon film.

Kevin Feige was hyping this one up as a legit Oscar best picture contender

There have been rumors about a World War Hulk or Planet Hulk movie circulating for a while. There are also a ton of rumors about the illuminati making their appearance in Dr. Strange. With Namor coming with Black Panther 2 and Reed Richards on the way they could certainly craft some sort of tale with the Hulk. With Universal owning the Hulk rights there doesn't seem to be any standalone Hulk movies that make sense with all these other characters running around unless Hulk goes world breaker and takes them all on or something.

In all honesty, I wasn't really sold on this movie from the get go. I'll still watch it, but even the trailers made this move seem like it was going to be a bore. Zhao is just not the blockbuster movie type honestly.

His formula excels on many levels, but it handicaps him in that area.

Black Panther had an entire, very vocal race pulling for it. His best bet is to attempt another all-black film, because multi-cultural, Asian, or gay films aren't going to garner the almost maniacal following that Black Panther garnered.

Or he can ask Warner if he can produce a Batman/Joker film.
