I'm not trolling. People just freak out because I like a show that they hate and don't watch.

This site is obsessed with trolls. Someone disagrees with the consensus and he's like, such a massive troll, man.

Entourage has Jeremy Piven, who is great in the role, and four guys who couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag.
if you are going into entourage expecting to be blown away by the acting then it's not for you

Exactly; it is a fun, enjoyable show. Not trying to be something it isn't.

That's a cop out. Just because there is no good acting on the show and the story sucks doesn't mean they just abandoned those things and said "let's make a show about drugs (other than that one season, when were there real drugs?) and boobs."

They've tried to make the show more than it is. None of it worked because the stories sucked and the actors are just really, really bad. Piven absolutely carried the show, which I imagine is why they leaned on his storyline so heavily towards the end.

Piven is excellent. E and Vince are good actors as well. Drama is really funny. Turtle sucks.

and the story sucks

That's your opinion. I think the story is awesome.

In season 7 and 8 they tried to make the show more than it is and started taking itself to seriously. This is why those seasons are universally regarded as the worst.

You just don't like the show and that's okay. That doesn't make the show bad or the people who made it bad at their jobs.

You might be the first person to ever call Adrian Grenier a good actor.

What's your favorite part of the story? That time that they were up and then down but finished up again? Or the time that they were down and then up but finished down again?

He is good in this show, in this role. I'm not claiming he has awesome range or anything but in this role he does a fine job.

You just described the conflict model of the show. Not the story itself. Yes the show does tend to fall into that same model of lose lose big win, but it isn't winning any awards or anything. The show doesn't try to be anything serious for the most part and I really identify with it's themes of male friendships as my 4 or 5 closest friends and I have been together since grade school just like the characters on the show.

I've gone a little far, I agree, but I've never really understood the appeal. Most people say they love looking at the women, which is something I've never, ever understood about entertainment. If that's what you're looking for, there are better sources for it. And unless you suck at looking for it, you don't have to watch 5 dudes for 22 minutes to see a pair of breasts for 9 seconds.

So instead of taking this 5 more pages of you being the contrarian, how's about you just let it go?

Instead of complaining about it why don't you provide a reasonable answer?
So far you've indirectly called me gay and provided nothing else of use. You're fitting into the viewer people have created as the Entourage viewer stereotype.

There isn't going to be a reasonable answer for you. You'll piss and moan regardless.

Sorry your tastes are just too refined to enjoy this show.

Who gives a shite what you understand or don't? You don't like it. Move along. Jesus. You've blown your same fricking notes about 10 times now. This isn't even a thread about Entourage sucking or being an all time great. It's about how to watch it.

I mean, shite, this thread should have been 1 page with 2 to 4 responses, and then dumped down the bottom of the page.

ETA:

Are you blind or just ignoring previous posts? Or are you specifically wanting to read what LNCHBOX has to say on the matter? Because a reasonable answer has been provided to you.

Here, I'll make it easier for you:
quote:

The same thing that was appealing about Sex in the City to women is the same thing that is appealing about Entourage to men. Men, particularly young men, get to live their fantasy life vicariously through these four fools who find themselves lucky enough to be attached to a guy who has hit it big. The show is witty and funny enough to grab the audience's attention, and the characters are likeable and intriguing enough to hold it.

Is it Breaking Bad? No. It doesn't try to be either. It is, at least for the first four or so seasons, however, interesting television to which the young male mind can escape.

Women like it as well because it is funny and the main characters are relatively non-threatening goofballs, who, as previously mentioned, are likeable. Even women can dream about living an extravagant life in L.A. with their friends.
