E getting with Sloan is the most unrealistic thing in the whole show

just kind of spit balling here but most people view tv shows as an escape from their real lives. we all can live vicariously through vince and his buddies as we all wish we had that lifestyle. it's not an award winning type show but it's just guilty fun. it's kind of the same reason women love 50 shades, they are all secretly whores.

Eh. Tons of guys get chicks they shouldn't get. And, to a lesser extent, vice versa.

I'm not sure what you mean there is no story, it is about a kid who struck it rich after a mentos commercial and his friends that tag along. As they progress you see the highs and lows of a beginning actor and his friends that try to find their own niche, rather than just be the entourage.
The story is interesting enough and the show displays what we all picture hollywood to be like for a 20 something actor who everyone considers good looking.

I mean are you looking for an in depth personal saga about why Vince became an actor or for him to be pick serious roles the entire time?

The show is good for 30 minutes of just getting away from the boring shite on tv and it is fun.

Relax, Nancy. It's a thread about a TV show. If you want more specificity, I'll happily provide it.

i watch shows for the story, acting, writing, etc. Imagining I'm one of the characters hasn't been a tipping point for me since I was very young, so I don't get that appeal. Apparently others do.

To each their own, I suppose.

I've just never bought into that line of thinking. Just like I've never said "it's not a good movie but it is a good popcorn flick," I've never said "it's not a very good show, but it's an entertaining series."

I understand entertainment is subjective, though. I've been the sole Girls supporter on this board for a long time.

I think I liked you better when you had "YOU RAPED HER, YOU MURDERED HER, YOU MURDERED HER CHILDREN" as your sig. Those were the days.

You're the one continuing to harp on the same shite over and over again about a show that is not out to push genres or to push what television is capable of, but to put four friends in a situation where one of them gets lucky, is able to move them all out of a shitty life, and the hijinx that ensue. It's about the four of them growing up, essentially, in an industry that is often cutthroat and abhorrent and maintaining their friendships through the trials and tribulations that the industry throws at them.

Hey, congratulations. Me, too.

My you're a condescending little shite, aren't you?

Apparently not. Apparently, there's Totes' correct way of thinking about television, and then the plebeian, unwashed masses' way of thinking about television.

God, going over to your house to watch Eraserhead and L'avventura must be a real fricking hoot.

Where have you been, bro? I watch Girls. And not because I think it makes me enlightened. I also watch awful shite like The Challenge, so I'm sure I'm being somewhat hypocritical.

But seriously, relax a little bit.
