Did a search and didn't see a topic devoted to this, otherwise I would have bumped it.

Watched it last night on HBO. Man, a lot going on in this. Makes fun of all sides, and no one comes across as a being The Voice of Reason.

It's pretty divisive because of the subject matter, but if you can divorce yourself from your own viewpoint, it was a pretty dadgum good movie, and strong commentary. Wasn't what I was expecting based off the trailers, though.

The third act goes off the rails a good bit, but I really enjoyed it. I'll be chewing on it for a while. Curious others' thoughts.

It was a little too “on the nose” for me and it’s overly long. It started off decent but like you said kinda goes off the rails the last 3rd. I think Ari Aster has lost his way a bit after Midsommar with Beau is Afraid and eddington both receiving mixed reviews. Although I have not seen Beau is Afraid.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would and I actually enjoyed the third act. Gave me No Country for Old Men vibes.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. I can agree the 3rd act isn't for everyone, or the movie for that matter, but I loved it. I've watched it 3 times & think it requires multiple viewings.

Chalk me up as an Aster devotee.

I think Beau is Afraid and Eddington - while both are structurally a little unwieldy - are both seminal works from a young master.

Yeah thats difficult for a lot of people but is kinda a requirement when you are watching someone elses story.
