Just left the theatre. I have read all the books and still liked the 1984 version. Well this blows it away. My only issue is that I missed a lot of dialogue because of loud music and effects noise…..but that may be an issue with my theatre. Can’t wait for part 2

I went in an IMAX on 12 grams of golden teacher mushroom caps.

The worm scenes were unique for me because someone near was eating red hots. So it seemed like the spice was real.

Agreed...loved it. Looking forward to watching it again. I think the movie is a lot better for those of us who are familiar with the books.

I watched it at my house sober. Your experience sounds way more fun.

I might watch it tonight, but at home with subtitles. I would love to catch the full theater experience but never time with a toddler.

I feel like Dune part 2 will be one of those satisfying sequels.

They are holding a lot of restraint with no Emperor, Feyd, and paul learning the ways.

And I believe part 3 will be of dune messiah?

that helped some too, with clarity of the subtle voices mixed in.

Phenomenal movie. Saw it today in theater with no knowledge of source material. Every scene was beautifully shot, gorgeous visuals, great acting. No wasted moment, no awkward scene that took you out of the movie (like most of the Star Wars sequels). Someone here said it reminded them of the first time they saw Fellowship of the Ring and I felt the same. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Strangely they are referring to the Dune movie that was just released in theaters and HBO. It’s based on a novel apparently

Just watched it on HBOmax.

Goddamn, Villeneuve makes some gorgeous other-worldly films. This and Blade Runner 2049 have some of the most eye-catching visuals ever captured on film.

Just finished it. I like it, but it was extremely anticlimactic. Most of the good stuff happens in the middle of the film and then it just ends.

I know it's only Part 1, but the last 20 minutes was boring as hell.

ETA: What the frick happened to Josh Brolin?
