the movie is 98 minutes so that's impossible
My misconception of time is what you took away from the post?

There's something about you. It's hard to explain.

Drive wasn't a terrible movie.
I just think it's overrated. How everyone goes on and on about how great of an acting job Gosling did. The dude just stared the entire movie.

I'll agree with that. I think that just how his character was written though. I've met people like that. It's off putting.
ETA: I watched it again yesterday, and even though I knew it was coming, that scene where he crushed that dudes head still make me cringe.

Well since you are replying to me with that statement, I'm going to have to have to put a trace on your IP and notify the authorities.

Back against the wall and odds
With the strength of a will and a cause
Your pursuits are called outstanding
You're emotionally complex
Against the grain of dystopic claims
Not the thoughts your actions entertain
And you, have proved, to be
A real human being

I watched it once... and I like it. I watched it twice... and I loved it. I watched more and it's one of my favorite movies now.

I thoroughly enjoyed it but the GF didn't. The lack of dialogue actually enhanced the whole thing for me but was a turn off for other people I talked to.

I'm afraid to watch this now. Have heard so much hype about this flick, I think it will be impossible for it to live up to it all.

There are enough people that really hate it who kill the hype. Listen to them too.

Maybe I should just buy that scorpion jacket and be done with it.

Just watch it. At worst, you'll enjoy a good movie.

I went into it knowing virtually nothing about it.
I saw it was highly rated on RT and IMDB, but I didnt actually read any of the reviews.
try to temper expectations as much as possible

Drive is one of those movies that I feel was made specifically for my taste. And... holy shite that opening scene was money.

What's the general opinion on why people hate it?
50/50 on here. Just like any of Terrance Malick's films, especially The Tree of Life.
This movie and TToL are the two most polorizing movies that get mentioned on here.
I've not seen either of them.
But they are the best threads on the board!
Now that it's there, I'll watch Drive for myself.
