Do people actually watch the “black stories” shite on Hulu and Netflix etc?

Does anyone actually click these thinking “I need to atone for existing today by watching a black story”

As shocking as it may seem to you, maybe some "black people" watch them. Crazy I know. Not everyone is as triggered by their presence as this website.

Probably. People tend to watch things based on their experiences and view point.

Asking a message board that is like 95 percent white dudes seems like a poor place to conduct this straw poll tho

I watched Glory, Boyz in the Hood, and Coming to America over the weekend.

I debated on it and figured the “movie/tv” board was the best place to ask a tv question.

Why do black people need their own search term?

What was your motivation for doing so?

Prime and whatever other streaming services I have are running those movies for black history month, so they are near the top of the page when I log on. I like Glory and Boyz n the Hood, so I checked them out. I had never seen Coming to America, so I thought as long as Prime is carrying it, I would finally check it out.

That’s cool. Hulu has been running “black stories” since Floyd got choked, nothing to do with February.

I’ve been getting spammed with emails about it and was wondering if anyone actually ever clicked that tab.

Yes, and I’m curious what other white people do with that tab.

I don’t get why asking what other white people do is somehow a big deal.

It's not, but the likelihood of you getting actual answers here is small considering the demographics, which isn't just white, but conservative white

As to answer your question, I just keep scrolling the same as I would for Valentine's Day promo

Be honest, your question/the answers you want have absolutely nothing to do with TV shows

Valentine's Day

Watched Ghost and Dirty Dancing for Valentine’s Day too.

I’ll admit it, I let the holiday/month of recognition recommendations determine what I watch. Has little to do with being brainwashed by the programmers, and more so that I’m too lazy to search through the entire catalogue of movies and make my own determination.

I don’t “want” any answers other than actual answers.

I figured the soy crowd likes it or it wouldn’t exist. I don’t need to ask them their opinion

I do not. It's everywhere. With that said, I wouldn't hesitate to watch if I thought it was interesting.

A white straight male friend was asking on the bookface the other day for black movie recommendations.

So, I have that anecdotal piece of evidence.

That’s fair enough. Reasonable way to go through options.

I tend to scroll for 30 minutes before deciding nothing is on and turning it off.

$60 a month well spent.
