they basically told me to kick bricks so I canceled.

That's because they don't really give a shite if you cancelled...as long as you still get your internet service through them.

Apparently, he's also lazy at checking his email. Charter sent out emails letting you know they will credit your bill due to the blackout.

Would America be better if Disney failed?

If they got to the point of failure? Sure. I’m a Social Darwinist. America doesn’t need to prop up companies on their last leg. This is the life of corporations - a constant struggle to breathe.

We are under no obligation to hope they continue to succeed just because they’re Disney. If they continue to fail their customer base, they absolutely should die.

Your subject line imparts a whiff of glee that Disney was "wrecked" by the deal. When clearly it was not. They got something out of it as well which you left out of your quote (interestingly.)

Disney employs hundreds of thousands of people, pumps billions of dollars into the economies of California and Florida yet you openly root for the company to fail. Is that making America better? Would America be better if Disney failed? Truth is you don't give a shite because all you care about is owning the libs with your anti-woke rage.

Good for you. frick everyone else.

I think the "glee" (if there is any) is in the fact ESPN has LONG been holding cable companies hostage because of ESPN position of leverage as maybe the most in-demand cable network...ever...and now that "bullying" posture could be coming to an end. Basically, if you were in the cable business you HAD to offer ESPN. If not, very few people would subscribe to your cable product and it would soon go out of business. ESPN knew that too. So they knew they could demand what they wanted and, for the most part, get it. Of course, that also meant the cable companies passed the increased cost of carrying ESPN to their customers.

ESPN was making a shite load of money. They were buying up all kinds of expensive sports properties. They pay $2.7 BILLION a year just for Monday Night Football. All while many consumers felt ESPN was trending in towards a leftist agenda that many consumers didn't agree with, and didn't want, in their sports consumption.

Then cord cutting started happening. Cable began dying. And ESPN had a shite load of products they had to pay for even in a state of decreasing revenues. So, they did what they always have done, try to use their immense leverage to "bully" the cable companies once more. The leverage always being "if you don't have us (ESPN) you don't have a cable business." Only this time it didn't work because for maybe the first time ever a major cable provider punched back and said "frick it. End our cable business. We don't care. We'll still make money off of you and we know you have a LOT of invoices (Monday football, NBA, college football, etc) that still need to be paid." ESPN knew that too. So this time they weren't able to get what they wanted.

I can read? It's the whole reason why Disney took ESPN and ABC off of Charter. They couldn't come to an agreement on this issue. So Charter just decided to wait Disney out.

Yeah I was wondering why I couldn’t watch some football that was on regular espn, Was able to watch anything on espn + with my account.

Yes, this country would be better off without Disney in it’s present form. I root for their failure.
