Dexter has killed on a few occasions where the victim was not a killer, thus breaking Harry's code.
i know the guy he killed in the bathroom at the beginning of the season was not only not a murderer, but not premeditated. there have a few instances. He has allowed the code to evolve, which is why i understand that harry, his jimminy cricket, isnt around as often

I'm gonna have to rewatch the endind. But I definitely think she suspects something. Remember when she shot that guy in the club and she told dexter that she doesn't feel bad that some people deserve to die... I think she understands.
its also the first i recall the writers setting up for next season when deb puts everything together and dex and deb both find out deb knows about the dark passenger.

How does the series end? Last week most were saying in death or jail, but after watching the finale that may change. Dex "transforming" to a human. He has gone from that ackward photo of him holding Harrison I believe to throwing a plate because he just got dumped. He has also learned that it is possible for the Dark Passenger to leave.
i think its getting caught or getting killed for Dex.

That's why the Lumen relationship ended the way it did. Depending if they sign her for next season the writers can easily write her in or out of next season's plot.

I finally got around to watching the final two episodes tonight. I thought it was a strong season and didn't really have a problem with the finale. I don't think Deb definitively knows, and I don't think she recognized Dexter at the camp. I do think that she's suspicious and starting to figure it out though. And referencing the books is weak. The show clearly isn't following them or Deb would have figured out what was going on at the end of the first season.

I don't get how deb said "get out they'll be cops swarming here in 15 minutes" and they had time to chop Jordan up. Unless they just moved him and chopped him up elsewhere.

I just finished watching it about ten minutes ago. Pretty sure she said that she was calling it in in 15 minutes and the cops would be there in an hour.
